Link, to his exploits while in BR.

I don't know if he is the right man for the job or not, I am sure Les will make the best choice. Is the wife incident his first brush with the law? If not, I am confused that he continued up the coaching ladder from LSU.

I like some of the other names better, but this wouldn't be a bad hire at all

I would like this hire too.

Really good football coach. Very knowledgeable.

Kids like playing for this guy.

Great attitude for ST coach.

It could be a new Daye at LSU if he's hired.

Daryl and Jay Thomas have been strongly linked professionally for many years. When you say "Daryl's players" you are really saying "Daryl & Jay's players" as they were inseparable for years.
Daryl & Jay did good jobs at Nicholls. Especially considering the adverse conditions in which they worked: almost no budget, program was in shambles when they arrived, very difficult to deal with the President of NSU, previous lack of support for the football program, etc. They did an amazing job of turning it around and developing more fan base. If Daryl doesn't get the LSU job you can bet he will be at Northwestern State with Jay. if they can find enough salary for him.
After being fired at nicholls, Daryl worked for TAF and was significantly involved in enlarging the donor base. He is the real deal in whatever position he is in.

I saw something a day or two ago that Thomas lost both of his coordinators at NW. I don't know what a coordinator's salary is, but it would probably be a good fit if they're already friends.

It was posted that McGaughey made 300k + and I doubt that Coach Thomas makes that much. Huge difference in salaries. Daye is a HC at MSSU and he could not leave for a lesser deal.Even...in La.

Yea, Northwestern State coordinator might only make like $60,000 a year or something like that.

LSU special teams coach is his best bet, but I bet being head coach at a DII school pays just as much if not more than a coordinator at NW State.

Does anyone actually know how much head coaches and coordinators at McNesse, NW State, Nicholls, Southeastern make? if you do, please share.

Refresh my memory. What happened with Daye at Nicholls? Why did he leave?

It wasn't even his wife that he hit. It was his baby's momma. A side piece that he got pregnant. So we have an adultress, woman beater, that was a poor position coach when at LSU before. I'll pass on Haywood.

Wife Beater is not even currently coaching anywhere. Why is that? Not needed or wanted back at LSU

Since you obviously have the inside facts of the case, why not share them with the rest of us. What did he do to his wife? Why was he not convicted of the crime you allege he committed? Or are you being your usual self, full of hot putrid air and against Haygood being a coach at LSU for your obvious reason.

Thanks for the link, BilJ. Was about to say that I was at Nicholls when Daye was there and pretty sure he and most of his coaching staff were fired because of academic fraud with a bunch of the football players.

Edit: for football, it was just Daye and an assistant coach fired. A couple of other coaches in other sports were also let go.
