When you vote for president in america you may suddenly realize it isn't a vote for who you want, so much as a vote against who you don't.
The reason is that the election is done by a first to a majority method. This alters the actual outcomes of future elections.

I think its bad for america. A huge flaw in the system if you really want 'a republic'.

here's the solution to what ails you: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting

don't expect the republicans or democrats to implement it ever if they can help it. it threatens both of their power base

Two:

1/ Payroll withholding. Eliminate it and make people write checks for what they pay. More transparent.

2/ unequal taxation. Incentivizes "the poor" to vote themselves more money. If we are all equal citizens, we should pay the same tax.

Fix those two things, and the rest will fix itself.

Judicial review.

The allowing of non-property owners to vote.

Not making everyone pass the citizenship test in order to be eligible to vote.

1) The head of the executive should be selected by Congress and serve one four year term. No more elected President.

2) Abolish the 17th Amendment

We could fix it all with the following Constitutional Amendments:

Flat tax
Term limits to Congress and Federal Judges
Balanced Budget Constitutional mandate.

we think the government is the solution to all of our problems

poor people only way to fix it is to give handouts
people without health care only way to fix it is government overhaul of healthcare.

etc.
