Was the Gretzky trade from Edmonton to LA the biggest sports trade ever?

I just watched the 30 for 30 "Kings Ransom" and that shite was insane.
I still think Wayne was a bit of a prima donna.
Montreal was the last Canadian team to win the cup beating the Great One in '93.

My falcons trading away Favre bc Glanville was a frickhead

I've always thought that the Cowboys trade of Herschel Walker was a pretty big one. Started a pretty dominant era for Dallas when the Cowboys drafted Emmitt Smith and Darren Woodson with two of the many picks they received.

i would say Shaq to Miami and Big Unit to Houston... those were the most buzz i've seen around a trade in my lifetime

wasn't too familiar about the Gretzky deal, but the Walker one I always thought was the biggest.

Not sure the Ruth trade changed MLB like this one changed the face of the NHL.

Agree. I would also put the Walker trade pretty high on the list.

Warrior to Celtics:
Robert Parish
Kevin McHale (draft)
Celtics to Warriors:
Joe Barry Carroll (draft)
It was total theft.

Seeing as how Gretzky is one of the GOATest of GOATs, I'm going with yes.

The Yankees hadn't won a pennant before Ruth

He and Mark Messier won 4 cups in Edmonton. He won the Hart trophy 9 times. Crazy. Took the last place team to the finals in a few years which basically assisted in expanding the league to 30 teams.

I had no idea he and Messier were teammates.

Ruth is the GOAT of all GOATs. Gretzky is up there, but the Babe trade was the biggest ever.
