Can we ever just be happy with our QB? Why is everyone giving up on Jennings?
seriously, I (the OP) think AJ will be the starter for all of 2014, and that the bowl game was more of a case of jitters + Iowa having a dang good defense with a gameplan bent on confusing him. (His accuracy was not great in that game, though.)

Rettig
He has the chest to compete.
Don't sell him short.
If he was not injured last year he may have got the call in the ARE Kansas game and we all may be having a different conversation today.

What? No..:he was in over his head during spring ball last year (wasnt comfortable undercenter, accuracy) and Jennings/Rivers were clearly ahead of him
Injury had nothing to do with that. He wouldve been the 4th ir 5th option at qb last year

Harris will redshirt. The battle will be between Jennings and Rettig IMO.

Harris has accuracy issues? lol
I love how people talk out of their arse about this guy. He was in a pass friendly offense in HS. It's not like he was running the option. He's one of the brightest guys on our roster already. He'll pick up the offense quick. Not saying he will begin the season as the starter but it wouldn't shock me either. He does everything better than Jennings, he is just a year behind.

No way LSU will ever start a True fresh at QB again unless terrorist bomb the dorms/appts of the experienced QBs ahead of them. shite, when our QB is shitty, we don't change him out for one with the same tenure.

It's Jennings job to lose.
Y'all are kidding yourselves if you think otherwise

Yeah, they were quite evident in his film and during the UnderArmor practices/game. Im not downing the kid, hes got a great arm and the ball shoots off his arms like a cannon but he needs to work on his accuracy and ball control on short and intermediate routes. Its a fixable issue with better mechanics. He needs coaching

Neither one of these things means anything. You can be accurate in an option offense and inaccurate in a passing offense
You can get away with a lot more at the high school level passing the ball than you can in the SEC.
Harris will be a great QB for us i have no doubt. But not this season

It's clear some fans have forgotten how much of a project Rivers was from the beginning.
They just see 6'7 and his last name and ignore the rest
There were plenty of "WE NEED TO PUT IN RIVERS" threads throughout Metts first season as a starter. Which is hilarious

Brandon Harris is 190lbs right now. And hes an EE and will be in a college strength and conditioning program and go through spring practice. Id be shocked if he wasnt 200lbs by summer.
And Jennings is still an unknown IMO. We saw a great game winning drive from him, then we saw him struggle to say the least vs Iowa. Complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Nobody knows how he will consistently play. We have no idea what kind of QB he is / can be/ will be.
I hope the best player starts. And I have no idea who that is. But there will be a QB Battle. And it will involve Harris in some form. Rettig, Jennings, and Harris.

What you said is something that can be said about any kid coming out of HS. Compared to his peers, his "issues" are minimal. There are a lot a tards here who make ridiculous comments that they've based on watching 2 minutes of practice drills with receivers he's never played with, not actual games. To say he has accuracy issues is like saying Fournette needs to work on his juke moves.

Comparing runningbacks and quarterbacks abilities to instantly contribute is dumb. Theres a whole different level of development that is needed for a QB and technique is a thousand times more important for a QB than a RB. How many true freshman QBs do you see being wildly successful in that first year?
Jennings was much more polished mechanically coming out of high school and thats why he skyrocketed up the depth chart and didnt need a redshirt. Harris does imo

It is funny to me the people that write off jennings
Especially when you read that Perrileoux article and the "JaMarcus who?" Comment after a rocky freshman season

If Cam can do to AJ what he did to ZM we are good to go and AJ will be great. If he can't then i expect to see Rettig or Harris.

Rettig didn't come here to sit on his arse. He's going to make a push along with Harris. Rivers is serviceable. Why is Bolden on our team?
