Curse of Oak Island on History Channel

Anybody watch this show or know of the history/mystery surrounding before the show aired. Quite interesting somebody could build something that big and efficient with no record of it. The booby trap water tunnel would have took quite a while to build and been quite a undertaking no matter how many man you had. It is connected into the shaft at 110ft down the shaft then goes up and connects to the ocean.

..or it's just a natural sinkhole, one of which naturally occurs all around the world.
Cool premise though.
There have been threads about this though...several people love the show.

My brother and i were watching this and agree that there has to be an entrance on mainland somewhere due to fresh water
I also believe that a self destruct button was pushed. The treasure is there just impossible to reach

I dvr'd last nights... Like I said, its a very interesting story. I was skeptical at first but then did a little reading and a few on here have claimed everything is proven/documented.
The most intriguing thing to me is the every 10ft down wood planks. If this is well over 200yrs old as claimed, how in the hell did they pull that shite off.
But like I said in the other thread. They obviously don't find shite this go round bc it would have already come out since this was shot months ago.

Don't know if y'all are still watching but the latest episode was pretty interesting. Found a point in the swamp and got readings of possible gold/silver on a metal detector. In the previews for the next episode they find something substantial but do not show what it is.

I must admit, that while I absolutely DESPISE what History Channel has become, I like this show. I am pretty sure I read the exact same Reader's Digest article the guys on the show read (I read it when I was a kid in the 70s), and have always wondered about it.

Tonight is seasons end
So they are going to have multiple seasons??? I thought it was just a 5-6 episode documentary.

Apparently this was a test run and winter was coming (forgive the GoT reference)
I think all of the theories are fascinating especially the Shakespeare cross. Cant wait till tonight.

No need to ever ask forgiveness for a GoT reference.

I read the same article back when RD had a little more substance to their stories. Like you I was intrigued but unfortunately I have not been able to record the episodes and only watched most of one of them.
Pretty clever engineering for a bunch of pirates. Perhaps the History Channel is leading up to a spin-off where we find out that Edward Teach, Bartholomew Roberts and Henry Avery were actually alien astronauts whose advanced engineering skills and technology were responsible for the Oak Island complex.

Remember folks... This is reality TV, which means anything BUT reality.
They are no closer today to finding it than they were in 1800.
Not gonna happen. PERIOD.

Turned on History at 9pm expecting to see it, but it was Swamp People
I guess they delayed regular programming a week due to the Superbowl
