Go.

Where?

Need a favorite for tomorrow night when in town…

Is Southdowns Lounge on Perkins still open? That was surely a sketchy joint.

I love Duvics!

I love dive bars, but Duvics is no dive bar. They have a girly specialty martini list.. and serve a full menu of food.. and actually ID people.

Baton Rouge doesn't have any good dive bars.

I remember reading a thread here years ago about some place where if you go in, you might die because of the scum of the earth that goes there. It has no sign and possibly no name.

I've tried to find the thread to no avail.

Pretty much agree.

Happy Note used to be a good one.

Cedarcrest lounge is apparently a good one but I've never been

There are a few places off of Florida that would qualify. Used to play in a travel league for pool and we played at two places that were definitely dives. Names are slipping my mind though

Brightside Bar and Grill? Slinky's? North Gate Tavern? That's about all I know that could qualify as a dive.

Then you've never been to a dive

I might let you pass with Slinky's.

But Northgate is just a bar where the EDM crowd hangs.. not a dive.

Used to be where the metal/screamo people hung. It has changed identities as the "outlier" music has changed identities.

Brightside? No. That's where high schoolers and some LSU kids hang.

There used to be a place off of Florida across from Bon marche, when it was there, that only played country music and only had beer in cans. This was in the 90s though. Don't remember the name.

Slinky's is pretty divish. Phil Brady's has seen a few broken dreams belly up to the bar on non-music nights. Hound Dog is a gay bar, but it's pretty divey on slow nights. Used to be that one in the basement of the old Little Village. It's since gone through several transformations. Not sure what's there now.

Bald Eagle. SOMEHOW they get away with doing free drinks for ladies until midnight on certain nights even though the legal stopping point for that is 10.

The Jefferson fits the bill.

Also probably the vineyard.
