The Super Bowl shouldn't be in NOLA every four years. It shouldn't be in any city every four years.
Oh now you gone and done it.

No kidding and 31 isn't even really that cold. There were playoff games this year played in SIGNIFICANTLY colder weather than that.
True but the Super Bowl is a neutral site game. Why play it in garbage weather if you don't have to?

They said the storm we got Tuesday wouldn't have stopped the Super Bowl. And that was about a foot of snow and around 10 degree temperature at night.
They aren't shutting it down with a 31 temp and a wintery mix.

n New Orleans. While I'd love to see the game in the Superdome regularly, it bums me out that we'll never see it there every four or so years again,
It's a good city to host it but it should get spread around more.

I'm hoping it looks like the North Pole up there

It's freaking football !!!
The playoff games are played in any and all conditions. The players won't care one way or another. And the real $$$ fans are sitting in the suites anyway. Sheesh !

Before the superbowl the NFL title game was played at a home field in December where weather was a major factor. No one ever felt that the winners were somehow tainted by the winter weather.
That was before people were paying $25,000 for a championship ticket. Would you pay that kind of money to sit in the cold? I sure as hell wouldn't.

A couple of models have started to indicate that the weather might be more severe than a wintry mix.

I never said that the weather would be threatening so that doesn't really answer the question.
I'm pretty sure that players and fans would prefer temps above freezing all other things equal.

Those aren't neutral site games. If the venue is chosen by the league why not pick a warm weather/dome location?

Sheesh!
Just asking questions.

Football is not meant to be played in a dome

These guys are professionals. They are totally driven to succeed. Once they are between the lines it doesn't matter to them what the weather is. They are there to win the big prize.

I hope it's snowy and cold as shite.

The issue isn't really with the game, it's with all the other crap that comes along with it...
do they have a backup site for the halftime show?
what happens if the northeast corridor on Amtrak is closed and the NYC airports are shut down?
i'm rooting for a 24 inch snowfall to make Goodell and the owners look like total idiots...
is there a single log planner up in the NFL front office or among the owners? i doubt it seriously...it has taken 24 hours with a max effort to get MetLife cleared out after this storm...
then you have to ask the question, why spend around a billion dollars for a stadium and not have the spectator seats covered (at a minimum)?
