Bitcoin making more strides (breaking into sports)

Sacramento Kings now accepting BC.
I know BC is sort of a lightning rod topic around here, especially on the OT, but this is a fairly big deal for BC IMO. The Kings franchise will now accept BC as payment for things like tickets and in merchandise.
A week or two ago, it was a small corner store in Colorado. Then it was overstock.com. And now this.
I still don't believe that BC will take over the world and crumble governments like some proponents do, but it seems to be becoming more and more accepted by legitimate businesses. As weird as the whole crypto currency thing is, it is definitely making strides. And something like breaking into the NBA, one of the "big four" of sports in this country, is a huge step. Thoughts?

"When I sold the NBA on keeping the team in Sacramento, my pitch included using the sports franchise as a social network to push the technology envelope," Kings majority owner Vivek Ranadive told ESPN.com. "This is an example of that."

If two threads pop up at the same time the poster with less of a life and more posts always gets their thread used.

I don't think it will be a long term, world-changing thing. But I've always recognized the usefulness of it to some people.

What's a 1/1000th of a bitcoin? That's probably what Kings season tickets are worth.

nah. there was even a thread on this topic on the money talk board this morning and I just chose not to post in it.
The "financial elite" (as they call themselves) on that board are very anti-bitcoin. I'm saving my gloats for a year or two in the future.

Fine with me.

Currency has the value we give it. I know that $X is worth one hour of my time and I know that $Y will buy me Z. I have no clue what that translates to in bitcoins. I also have no way of getting bitcoins other than buying them. I don't need to translate or buy dollars. It would probably take a collapse of the dollar and US economy for Bitcoin to become more than a novelty.
