I am pissed. My body was ready but it was surprisingly off. I took the bait on the most realistic war movie hype.

News flash: Not even a damn seal takes that kind of beating and keeps going. It was like the Rocky of war movies. And the liberties were total BS. Google the real account of OP Red Wings.

Left the movie disappointed and feeling sorry for those who had their chain jerked by this movie. Ironically the movie makes seals like Rocky on taking punishment but total vee gee gees on a social and emotional level.

I will probably not find much support for my view. Damn, if it were a fictional movie it would be good except for the excess physical punishment the seals took. They freaking feel down two different mountains and get shot dozens of times but keep trucking. The ending is total BS, never happened.

You need to read the book. They were all shot multiple times and kept fighting until they died. Marcus Luttrell, the lone survivor of Operation Red Wing, broke his back and his leg on the final cliff dive the SEALs took off the mountain - and still continued to fight.

Sometimes movies have to go to an extreme to get its point across. The point is these guys are tough as nails, and gave up their life plus more to protect our country.

For example: IF they made a movie about your life and the toilets you fix, then they would have to throw some extra "shite" in there to entertain us.

RIP to everyone involved

Why don't you read the book. They did take that kind of a beating. After you read Lone Survivor, read Service by Marcus Luttrell. He talks at length about how long it took him to recover from his injuries and how hard his second tour was because of the injuries he sustained in Operation Red Wing. He also talks about how his injuries forced him to retire from the Seals.

You need to rethink the title of this thread a-hole. It wasnt total B.S. Some references were slightly exaggerated but that doesnt change the fact that it was a 4 man SEAL team on a mission gone wrong, in which three of them died. Did you think it was going to be 100% accurate to every minute detail? Did you want a fricking 6 hr film? They were all shot multiple times except for Lutrell, and they all continued to fight until the death. The movie showed that and showed in fairly accurate detail how a SEAL team acts as a single fighting unit. The point of the movie was to show how the 4 men died, and here you are splitting hairs critiquing the ending of a film because it wasnt totally accurate. Yes, there never was a battle in the village. Yes, he was never abducted by the Taliban and almost beheaded. So fricking what? Does it make the story of what actually happened to those men any less real? This is an opinion board, but some of you sure take that a run with it showing no respect for the real world. What a fricking dick you are. Im sure Peter Berg and Lutrell are very dissapointed that your movie-going experience wasnt completely fulfilled.

You should arrange a meeting with Marcus and tell him the movie is BS and you are tired of his lies to stroke his ego.

Also, let me know when it is so I can watch him stomp your bitch arse.

I'm sure during all the bullets flying and RPGs being launched at him that he didn't have time to stop and get a head count on how many were attacking. I don't care if it was 5 to 1 or 35 to 1.........fact is that they were outnumbered and could not win the firefight in that terrain.

The guys were out there fighting to defend your freedom you simple frick. And I would bet they could give a flying frick about what you think of the movie or their story.

My son was not in this movie.......but he has met Marcus and worked with his brother. I believe Marcus brother is a twin. Let the "Tidehaters son is not a seal" begin.....lol.

I guess you missed the "based on a true story" disclaimer at the start, key words there "based on".

All these movies take liberties, some more than others. Argo, Captain Phillips ... there's a bunch of Hollywood in all of them.

Knowing that, I thought it was a very good movie.
