Request the SEC Network today!

I copied and pasted from TexAgs, but relevant for the the whole conference, so ignore the A&M stuff...
With the announcement of next year's season opener between A&M and South Carolina being broadcast on the SEC Network (SECN), the time has come to truly ramp up the pressure on cable providers to add the SECN to their lineups. The SEC Network officially launches on Aug 21, 2014, and the season opener airs on the 28th. AT&T U-verse and Dish Network are the only major national providers that currently offer the SEC Network as a programming option. If you are a current subscriber to either of these, and are happy with their service, then congratulations. However, even with the recent addition of Dish Network to the fold, only a small percentage of the cable coverage throughout Texas and the rest of the SEC footprint can receive the SECN. Remember, the potential financial benefits of this deal will not be fully realized until there is much broader distribution for the new network.
The biggest targets in the Texas market remain Time Warner, Comcast and Cox, none of which are showing signs of picking up the network yet. To help make this happen, you can fill out SEC-ESPN petition linked below. Better still, you can call and/or provide written feedback to the major cable providers (every day if you have the time) to request the SEC Network as well. You should make this part of your daily routine to insure that the appropriate amount of pressure is applied. It takes less than 10 minutes of your time, on average.
EVERYONE needs to fill out the SEC-ESPN network request petition form here:

In addition to this, EVERYONE needs to frequently contact one or more of the major cable providers to submit a direct request for the SEC Network. I have provided general contact information and instructions for each of the major providers below:

Call 1-888-777-2454 or 1-800-531-5000 to submit your request directly with one of their representatives.
We all need to put as much pressure as possible on as many cable providers as we can. I have already filled out the SEC-ESPN online petition form at least 50 times. Additionally, I have called, and submitted written requests, to multiple providers on numerous occasions. Once again, if you are already a U-verse or Dish Net subscriber, that's great! But, at a minimum, you still need to fill out the SEC-ESPN request petition, and you should preferably contact one of the major providers directly on a daily basis so that we can maximize the cash that rolls in for A&M and the other member institutions of the SEC.
I will be making a nuisance out of myself in reminding everyone to do this. You will be seeing this message posted, and/or bumped, on a regular basis until it becomes a joke, or until it really angers everyone, or until the SEC Network is distibuted by the major cable providers. Just consider this to be the biggest, most important, poll that we have ever tried to win. Except, let's actually win this one!

I can't believe Cox isn't planning on carrying at this point. Isn't their main client base in SEC country?

I refuse to believe that the SEC would've signed a deal that would cut an enormous amount of exposure (and therefore profit)...
I would guess the "big stuff" like A&M vs South Carolina (and pretty much any football game) would be co-broadcast on a sister channel. like an ESPN outlet (ESPN, 2, watchESPN.. etc)
But yeah.. if you want the gymnastic matchups between vandy and kentucky.. then by all means..

Thanks for taking the time and effort to do this. Some of us actually appreciate it.

I've got DirecTV and so far they don't have it, in spite of my written request!

Anyone know if the SECN will be available through the WatchESPN app if you subscribe via your cable provider?
Posted on 1/14/14 at 4:33 pm to TxAgswin
Are there any black out provisions?

TWC doesn't frick around though...
I've called them twice threatening to leave and take a better deal or more options from a different provider thinking they would cut me a deal; both times they've said ok good luck. They also had an automated response when they were fighting with CBS saying if you are calling to complain they are not receiving those calls but would be happy to connect you to a different cable provider if you had to have CBS. This was followed by names and numbers of other cable providers...
Basically they DGAF about you threatening to leave, at least not in Dallas. Makes me respect them honestly
