a lot of people from Lafayette always tend to exaggerate their accents, especially if they are outside the area in order to get a rise out of people.

There was a movie with Susan Serandon that came out like 15 years ago. And it was her against the Cajun mafia or some shite. It was pretty bad.

We have a local radio commercial for a tow truck company and the guy speaking does a god awful Cajun accent.

John Folse.

Ive been all over Louisiana, and he's the only person I've ever heard talk like he talks.

Actually, the local commercials with Cajun accents don't bother me. Clarence Cochon da Easter Pig, at Acme Four Corner (Fo Cawnah) Liquidate used to make me giggle.

I love J P Thibodeaux's: On vas soigner ton char, comme le char a nous autres!

Dennis Quaid's "cher" bugged the hell out of me. I attribute John Folse's accent to his German Cajun combo heritage, but wtf do I know? Justin Wilson's accent wasn't real, but his cooking was pretty authentic.

In the movie Passion Fish, I was really impressed by David Strathairn's very subtle, almost non-accent. I thought he sounded like he could've been local.

Movies should forget about trying to do Cajun accents.
