Vulnerables has definitely improved the D from the past years, but I don't understand how this was "nailed" by Dabo. They gave up 35 to OSU and all I have heard is how good the D played. Gave up 50 plus to FSU. Couldn't stop a SCar 3rd down for anything.

That's what I'm saying. Yes he was an improvement on Steele but he isn't some amazing hire.

Did you see our D under Steele? Anything would be an improvement over him. We lead the nation in TFLs this season and were significantly improved on third downs (outside of the South Carolina game ).

I wasn't overly high on the Venables hire at the time, but he has done masterfully here. Next year the D should take a big step IF we can find a DB or two.
