Dabo has been absolute money lately with his coaching hires. He doesn't get enough credit for identifying and hiring Morris, and he nailed it getting Venables from Oklahoma. He'll hire someone extremely similar to Morris, and Clemson will be fine.

I actually think Morris' gameday playcalling is overrated. His true genius is in his ability to develop the QB position, his understanding of his system, the toughness he instills in his players, and the implementation of his scheme. Like Jimbo, I expect him to be a substantially better head coach than OC.

Also, he won't be breaking in a true freshman. He'll turn the offense over to Chad "Swag" Kelly. He's basically a Connor Shaw clone. Possibly a little worse as a passer but more elusive as a runner. One of the toughest SOBs around. Returned from a torn ACL in like 6 months, topped even AP's time. He's Jim Kelly's nephew and has been groomed for this moment for years.

Morris is smart and waiting for the right job. He's not gonna jump at whatever comes available (aka Dan Mullen).
