Most common replies are "Were you affected by Hurricane Katrina" or "You don't sound like you're from Louisiana."

Texans can be really hard to talk to.

Depends where in TX they're from. I get along great with East Texans and West Texans really well. South Texans (i.e. Mexicans) not so much, I also don't like North Texans (Dallas).

I work in Wisconsin and yes, they are. I've already found a girl and been invited on hunting, ice fishing, and snowmobiling trips.

My experiences mostly come from living in Missouri and Oklahoma over the years.

Oklahoman's response: "Aren't you guys all inbred and want to overthrow the government to bring back slavery?"

Missourian's response: "Ooh, well, I always hope for the standard of living to improve down there and our town/community/organization/whatever will continue to donate to Habitat for Humanity efforts in Louisiana to combat poverty and social injustices."

I always get the do you know so and so from a tv show, have you ever been to New Orleans, why do you live where there are hurricanes, and my favorite is when they tell me I don't look like I'm from Louisiana. Apparently people from Louisiana are suppose to look a certain way

Usually a mixture of pity and horror. Then I say "no, no, no the North part". And they're like all feeling really sorry and shite.

"Where are you from?"

I'm from Louisiana.

"Really?!"

Yes, really. Why is that so amazing?

"Because you're a blue eyed white person with blonde hair."

Too funny!

Oh don't get me wrong, I love Texans, but they are arrogant.

Yeah, I've got a couple of accounts based in the Twin Cities, and I deal with some reps up there. Easy goining, personable people.

That's where I'm at.
I've only been to your fine state one time but at work today I talked to a guy on the phone in Broussard and he was so ridiculously nice. Made my day.

I've never met anyone who admitted they were from Louisiana (although I had a girlfriend who admitted her parents were from LA), so I'll ask in this thread: Do you guys eat a lot of nutria? And how come on the OB board no one admits to hunting nutria?

You wouldn't know it from reading the OT but there still is, in fact, southern hospitality.
