Woman Says NJ Lane Closings Were Not To Blame For Her Mother’s Death

FORT LEE, N.J. — The daughter of a 91-year-old woman from Fort Lee, N.J., who died on the day of a major traffic jam precipitated by top aides to Gov. Chris Christie said on Thursday that she did not believe the inability of an ambulance to reach her mother’s house was a factor in her death.
“I honestly believe it was just her time,” said Vilma Oleri, whose mother, Florence Genova, died on the morning of Sept. 9, the first day that the closing of local lanes leading to the George Washington Bridge set off the snarls.

So upon further review, the play is overturned and the score remains:
Benghazi - 4
Ft. Lee -0
Benghazi - 4

The people that closed the lanes should be arrested & after due process & court. If they are sentenced- be in the same jail cell as Louis Lerner et al IRS employees.

It really doesn't matter. The decision to do that pretty assed shite as political payback was just blindingly stupid. And, not a soul believes he didn't know.
I get the comparisons to Obama but that misses the point. It is actually the silliness of it that makes it more politically damaging. It was so totally unnecessary. People kind of aren't surprised when pols lie about big stuff.
But this thing is totally WTF. I mean really? Bottom line is he fricked with the citizens of an entire community just because some damned mayor from the other party wouldn't support him. That's just painfully childish.

But.. but.. they aren't even on trial, much less going to be sitting in a jail somewhere. Call me confused.

Is this woman a doctor? Why do we care about her medical opinion on how her mother died?

What in the fricking frick? I swear reading this board is 60% trolls. You do realize multiple Americans died as a result of Obama's phony scandals?

"People" are stupid. I thought we had resolved that on this board?

I thought all reports, including from the mayor were that he was never asked for an endorsement by Christie's people?

I do believe the two that shut the lanes will eventually go to court. Depends on the IG of the DOT's findings, I suppose. My point is all whom I named, *should be* on trial.
But the progressives will say the IRS employees are not on trial nor should be.

Ah, maybe because the media reported that PEOPLE DIED *because* of the lane closings.. And this was the person they were referring to.

Oh, I agree. Wouldn't they be guilty of interference with interstate commerce? And that can have some pretty serious consequences, I think.

Plus all the people who knowing lied about the ACA law that's putting many through the ringer. People who are dealing with life or death situations are being put through some serious BS. All because some are/were more concerned how the ACA truth would effect politics. These people are no different than the con-man who defrauds an old couple from their lifesavings. Jailtime for all these corrupt people would set a precedent that needs setting.

I do, until proven otherwise.
Guess you've never raised kids under your own roof that did stuff that could be categorized as inappropriate but yet you knew absolutely nothing about what they had done until after the fact? Does that make you a liar as a parent?

Christie's people obviously got to her and paid her off.

And, frankly, if Christie engages in this kind of petty childish bull shite, you can bet it isn't an isolated incident. I have no interest in such politics who just enjoy abusing their power. If he's ok with this, it sure as shite doesn't stop with this.

How so? It's called being head of the household and supposedly knowing everything going on under your roof. Do you really think that is possible 100% of the time? If so, then maybe you need to be running for political office.
FWIW, I'm a registered Independent.

From what I'm hearing elsewhere, the real interesting part may not end up being the Fort Lee lane closures but, instead, some of the crap pulled by a Port Authority employee fired over the closures who was a childhood friend of Christie, David Wildstein.
Prosecutors are pushing to give Wildstein immunity in exchange for turning state's evidence.
