Does anyone else think the rain and wind might actually benefit us? We'll run it more. Hell we ran it well in the monsoon in Carolina. I know they will too but we've shown we can stop the run when we need to. Lynch wasn't effective in our first meeting.

difference between their run game and our run game is they have a qb that can run. we don't.

another rain aspect is that it diminishes the pass rush quite a bit.
However it plays out they added the bold to the forecast on the weather channel...
Jan 11
Rain / Wind
48°F High
Rain / Wind
Chance of Rain:100%
Wind: SSW at 21 mph
Humidity:89%
Potential for heavy rainfall

gonna throw some of the NOLA-Seattle connections in since there is prolly more staff connections to the chickens than any other franchise (and it's in the important stuff category)...
*New Orleans Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis spent 15 years with Seattle, most recently as Executive Vice President from 1992-98. He originally joined the Seahawks in October 1983, as the team’s business manager and was promoted to Vice President/finance in 1990.
*Saints Director Of Operations James Nagaoka served on the Seahawks staff for 22 years, holding a wide spectrum of responsibilities including managing the club’s ticket operations and sales efforts and handling their travel.
*New Orleans Director Of College Scouting Rick Reiprish served on the Seahawks scouting staff from 1984-94.
*Saints Area Scout Mike Baugh is a graduate of Central Washington University, who spent eight years invarious capacities with the Seahawks from 1992-99 before joining the Saints scouting staff in 2000.
*New Orleans Assistant Head Coach/Linebackers Joe Vitt spent 10 seasons with the Seahawks (1982-91), holding several titles during that stretch.
*New Orleans Area scout Terry Wooden was a second round draft pick of the Seahawks in 1990 and played for Seattle from 1990- 96.
*Saints Pro Scout Ryan Powell is a native of Bend, Ore., who played linebacker at Linfield College and later served on their coaching staff. Powell also worked for the Seahawks for three summers (1998-2000) as a training camp assistant
---that's a lot!
Even more impressive that Wilson looks like a good QB... Seahawks Quarterbacks Coach Carl Smith served as the offensive coordinator in New Orleans from 1986-96. Just like some coordinators aren't cut out to be HCs, I spose some position coaches aren't cut out to be coordinators. That was a rough ten years of offense.

day time rain is 100, heavy and windy. sat night, rain drops to 60%... maybe we should try to get ball in 2nd half.
meh. this might force payton to stick to the running game.
the flip side is if we do pass, it will likely be short - under 10 yards. Thats all we did up there 6 weeks ago and they ate our lunch.
We gotta get off those jams and get downfield at some point.

I always remember McCaulay as ref who did the game where the Saints played in New York against the Giants in the first game in NYC after 9/11. I'm not going to go into specifics, but it was the most rigged football game I have ever seen--the on the field equivalent of Bountygate.
Here are a couple of pieces from an article about the game.
Here are a couple of pieces from an article about the game.
quote:
Garnes and rookie Will Peterson had to break up passes in the end zone in the closing seconds, giving New Orleans one final shot from the New York 9 with four seconds to play.
Brooks, who finished 28-of-54 for 291 yards, was flushed out of the pocket and lofted a floater into the end zone. Willie Jackson caught the ball after shoving cornerback Emmanuel McDaniel. The offensive pass-interference call, the 14th penalty against the Saints, ended the game.

Michael Lewis opened the game with a 68-yard kickoff return to the New York 23, but the Saints failed to capitalize because of an unsportsmanlike penalty against T Kyle Turley.
