This is why I hate these so called expert analysis shows from former players

Yesterday on the NFL Network most of the former player panel picked the Eagles to beat the Saints because the weather was going to be too tough of a factor for us to deal with. Yet today these same jackasses all picked the 49ers, (a team from California,) to beat the Packers in -17 degree frozen weather!
I don't know why I watch this shite!!

San Fran isn't a dome team nor do they suck arse on the road.
Plus green bay is a bit of an unknown this season.

to be fair, it's not like San Fran has 100 degree weather all year

49ers are a ground and pound team with a great D and much more physical wide receivers so being from Cali i don't think means as much as they match up well with the weather. Saints had been much worse away from home all year.
Although i liked the Saints yesterday because Payton and Brees are so much more experienced in playoff games than Kelly/Foles

Maybe because the experts are looking at the impact that the weather will have on each particular team's offensive style. Much harder for a passing offense like the saint to have success in teh blistery cold weather than a power running team like SF.

who passes more, the saints or 49ers? who relies on running more?

you are correct
the OP is right, i have no idea why he watches these shows anyway b/c he clearly lacks a basic understanding of football

It has just as much to do with your style of play as it does with your location.

I agree with both of you, but Irving and Sapp went on and on and on about how the cold weather does affect a player even when they say it does not. They were sating that it will too cold for the Saints to play well. Not so much attention given to the status of the team, more about the cold weather.

San Fran's road schedule:
Seattle
St Louis
Tennessee
Jacksonville
NOLA
Washington
Tampa
Arizona
Guess which ones they lost?
It's easy not to suck on the road when you play multiple teams whose record would put them in the top ten picks and/or fired their coach this year.

Green bay has had a very suspect OL all season and a defense thats struggled.

I agree with the other posters, but I'm also posting to agree with your statement that countdown shows and the people on them are obnoxious and bias pricks

i mean again you're talking about a passing dome team vs a non dome team that features the run and has a great D.
I will agree that many experts undersold the Saints playoff experience yesterday as a major factor and indeed it was the difference in the game IMO.

like others have said, the cold affects the passing game, which the saints rely on far more than the 49ers, more so than the running game, which the 49ers rely on far more than the saints.
it's not just about the weather, it's how the weather affects certain team's offensive philosophy. the 49ers have a better chance of winning in the cold than the saints did because they are a ground and pound, control the clock team

Have the 49ers won a road playoff game in their history? I believe so. People need to stop being offended by everything. The saints won be happy and stfu

Again, this was not the issue. The high points were mainly about the extremely cold weather and how it affects the visiting team. This is the reason that they picked the Eagles over the Saints, yet they do not believe that the the extremely cold weather will affect the 49ers?

extremely cold weather doesn't affect the running game nearly as much as the passing game. 49ers run, run, run, run the ball. saints do not. it's not hard to understand

Why do you care? Their predictions mean absolutely nothing.
should analysts never be wrong?
