Looking to buy some In-ceiling speakers for my home theatre. Any suggestions on brand or size? Also looking to add two speakers on the outdoor patio that will not be in-ceiling. Looking to only spend $300-$500. Both sets will be hooked up to the same receiver (not sure on my receiver specs, but I know it is a pretty decent Yamaha).

$500 total or per set? Look into KEF if per set. Polks will do fine if that's your total budget.

Check monoprice or crutchfield.

Best buy for the money and sound great....klipsch. Avoid the contractor grade...go with the ones with the magnetic grills. Sound terrific.

In-ceiling speakers look cleaner than floor speakers. They may sound better to some, but I'm looking for something aesthetically pleasing too.

Bose sound bar FTW. Seriously. A lot of cha Ching but the sound is in friggin credible. And you won't have to worry about trying to find replacement ceiling speakers in 7 to 10 years from now.

Any suggestions...?
one suggestion. don't use ceiling speakers for your home theater. it's all about proper imaging and it's not going to sound quite right with ceiling mounted speakers. they'd be great for your patio, or kitchen, or bathroom, etc...

Sad that you had to point this out.
My vote goes to Paradigm.

The speakers will not be strictly for blowing my ears off for a fast and furious marathon. I'm trying to add some speakers to my house for having music playing, and also for some added sound when watching movies.

Re-read the post above with diagrams. Shitty placement of speakers used for a home movie set-up will "add sound" in that it'll sound unnatural/annoying/out-of-place. Decent home speakers typically are aesthetically pleasing unless you live like a Spartan or something.

I hate the look of floor speakers so therefore i will not be having them in my home. Only in-ceiling.

I asked for suggestions on in-ceiling speakers not floor speakers.

I have the Speakercraft AIM series. They sound great, plus you can "aim" the tweeters toward your primary seating/listening area.
