I wanted them to stay in the dome. The move out of HemisFair was done for right reasons. But the Dome is a waste now. I get UTSA plays on Saturdays etc., but the dome was and is a great venue.
The Dome was rocking during the NBA Finals run in '99. It is a great, and underrated venue in the national scheme. I am sure that is one reason why the Alamo Bowl is so successful. You don't see massive sections of empty seats on a yearly basis at that game like you do in other bowls.
As for the Spurs playing there, I am sure it wasn't cost effective to power such a huge building to only use half of it. As ugly as that massive curtain was, I still enjoyed going to games there. It was nice seeing the NCAA tourney return there in 2011.

Phog. Would have to make the trip if LSU or Duke ever played there.

The Pit is an awesome venue and quite historical in my opinion.

Fabulous Forum is a dump. Inglewood is scary. When the PCAA moves it's tourney out of there you know it's got issues.
But it did have decent hockey there.
Oh I will be serious now, the Forum to me is not historical. Pauley and Maples are. Maples was weird the floor moved it felt like.

If I've bought something at the mall attached to rupp arena, does that still count?
Posted on 12/28/13 at 1:25 pm to rockchlkjayhku11
Wasn't the Omni in Atlanta attached to a mall?

Pretty sure just the food court and cnn center which are still attached to Phillips so yeah the same joke could be made about it. It's more odd that the situation occurs to CBB's top program, though, but rupp is owned by the city or some shite.
It's just a weird situation. I probably don't know enough about it to use that joke but I enjoy doing it

Son played in Cameron this past summer and to this dad that means more than seeing a Duke/North Carolina game HOWEVER......
I still want to see a Duke/NC game there. I've got a good "IN" for tickets however I need to be able to go when the son can miss school for a day or two. We WILL do it in the next 3-4 years.
Other than that, Madison Sq Garden is next on the list.

Awesome gym and real old school. Butler's campus is gorgeous.
The Phog would be the place for me…would love to hear the "Rock Chalk" chant at the end of a winning game.

The one they do at beginning is louder but the one at end seems eerier

No words to describe this place. Nothing like the NAtional Anthem prior to a Blackhawk Game…like the new place, it is in a rough part of Chicago across the street).

The Omni wasn't directly attached to the Omni International/CNN Center (there was a short outdoor walkway between the two), but it was close enough. Philips Arena's architects were really smart in allowing the current indoor connection.
And to answer the OP: The Palestra.

I've driven by it. The Pharaoh in front is cool...but it's odd how the arena is sandwiched down by the river with almost no parking nearby.
