not pointing a finger or anything but have you killed a deer in the last two seasons? If so and you really wanted to be with him on his first why was he not there to pull the trigger?

I would be happy for him. don't be selfish on this matter. my son killed his first with his grandfather because I was offshore. he was so fired up. it doesn't matter to him who he is with. it just matters that he got his first one.

seems to me that you are worried about how YOU feel more than how excited HE is. put your selfishness aside.

Happy, happy, happy! Celebrate it with him and be glad step dad is involved with him and not some a-hole. Hard as that may be. It's all about your son and his first deer. He'll kill plenty with you.

From that pic, I'm gonna guess your more upset with yourself for not already having done this. The kids old enough to be hunting on his own so looks like you've had plenty of seasons to help him get his first and just haven't. My apologies if I'm wrong, but he looks early teens.

I was Navy active duty most of his young life...just got out a few years ago...and have started hunting alot again...as was stated...he lives with them...so his hunts with me have not been regular...now his three little brothers that live with me?...they sit the stand with me damn near every time I go...so the situation with him is a little hard...im glad for him...and glad stepdad is cool...but yeah...would have loved for him to have gotten one sooner...he is 12
