here's my thing... the conference tie-ins have ruined the small bowls...
after the BCS and the new years day bowls have their teams, instead of the small bowls locked into certain conferences, they should have more at-larges to make logical matchups like Tulane-ULL in New Orleans, or at worst have one regional team in every small bowl... for example, Independence Bowl in Shreveport should have Tech, ULM, Dallas area teams, Arkansas teams, Oklahoma teams, etc., even a powerhouse from one of those states when they go like 6-6
