Boise State didn't sell their allotment in 2009 but took about 40-50k fans using the aftermarket
But I don't see Baylor repeating that

i thought U of Cinccy had the largest student population?

The whole Bowl Ticket Allotment system is fricked up and only there to ensure money for the bowls, I don't think it truelly represents the schools fan support, but they use it as an innaccurate measuring device IMO

quote:frick them out of what? These games cost a lot, and they're exhibition games. Baylor fans don't want to pay out the arse to go to the Fiesta Bowl, and we're warning them that the consequences for this are as grave as getting passed over by the Holiday Bowl? You're getting "fricked" out of something that just doesn't matter.
Well, bowls claimed MU didn't travel, which was horse shite, and would frick them,

If the fiesta bowl was a better matchup Baylor fans would travel better. Who the frick wants to watch their team play a directional school in Florida?

Well the price of Tostitos just want up $.25 per bag.

Considering what Baylor did this year it pretty much sucks to have to play UCF in bowl game, much less a BCS game.
Some excited Baylor fans jumped the gun and picked up seats that cost over $400 according to some earlier posts on BaylorFans.com Had they waited a few days they could have picked up the same seats for less than $250. If they waited until now they are even cheaper and on game day they will be able to get great seats for less than $75 each.
Back in 2009 Boise played OU didn't they? I don't remember. Much different than playing UCF at any rate. Not sure if there are many bowl games generating less interest than this one.
Fiesta Bowl sponsors probably threw up when the teams were announced.

Boise State played TCU, a team they had just played in a bowl game the year before in 2009, and Boise State still brought 40-50k fans. TCU brought 28k fans and requested an additional 10k tickets after selling the allotment.
The "lousy opponent" excuse holds no water, especially when the 2009 matchup was a rematch of a bowl game the year before and both teams still turned out in droves.

It's not an excuse. Fans don't want to pay a ton of money to see their team play a crappy opponent in a meaningless game.
Not sure what TCU has to do with anything. They are the last fanbase that should be talking about attendance

The "lousy opponent" excuse holds no water
By the way, not a fair comparison between this Fiesta Bowl and the 2009 game. Boise State and TCU were both undefeated and in the top five. That's a naturally-compelling matchup that people would pay big bucks to see even no matter what other circumstances exist.

Meanwhile, LSU has sold only 6K out of 12K tickets .

This one is bad whether you are a UCF fan or a Baylor fan. Neither one excited about the other.
Don't know much about UCF but I can tell you that Baylor is not known for traveling to bowl games. They have never had to so they may not know how!
This is an awful bowl game and I am considering not traveling to my TV to watch it.

Way to be selective and post a pic from the 4th quarter of an 11:00am game that had already been decided and the heat index was in the 110 degree range.

So for TCU it is "being selective" but for Baylor it is an excuse? Got it.

how about this?

Not that it matters that much but... That game photo was from the TCU v SMU game. It was pretty much like that in the first half. Actual attendance was something well below 30,000. This is for 2 schools with less than a 40 minute drive apart.
The only reason I know about this is because a couple of guys I know that support Texass were using this attendance to resume bitching about adding TCU to the Big 12 instead of BYU.

TCU was by far the worst add any conference made during realignment. They have a tiny fanbase, terrible basketball and we see what a mirage their football program was. Also, no one in FTW/Dallas gives a shite about TCU
It sucks to know we could have had Louisville instead

So in one of their worst seasons they have problems with attendance? Meanwhile Baylor has to lie about numbers for sell outs in their best season in school history. (Where fans decide they don't want to go to a bowl.) Baylor fans still suck and the second they have another bad season barely anybody will show up. Baylor is a mid major at the best point in their history and should just be thankful an ex-Texas Governor got them into their conference.

I didn't say Baylor doesn't have fairweather fans also. But that TCU guy was acting as if TCU has the loyalest fans in the country when in fact they are just a bunch of bandwagoners
