When he wins another NC, we should dump money on the man. Not oppposed giving him a raise now though, it just looks bad when the portuguese program and serveral others were shut down because of budget cuts, but I think keeping Les is also a high priority.

#3 and #4 were complete flops this year (well, at least Tennessee beat South Carolina). They better make big improvements next year or they'll be on the chopping block.

Hoke has drastically regressed since his first season too. Saban and Urban should be at the top.

As much as I appreciate and like Les Miles, he should not get a raise.

Raises should be performance based. Has Miles done a good job? Yes, and he is paid to do a good job, but he needs to exceed expectations if he wants to get a raise, imo. 10-win seasons are expected at LSU. I would expect a top 10 coach in CFB to be able to accomplish that with our talent. We are paying CLM as a top 10 coach. Until there is leverage to force LSU's hand, I don't think CLM will get a raise until he wins another championship.

Auburn has been to the BCSNC Game twice with two different coaches since Les won his title, which happened to be the luckiest back door into a game with two losses ever. Auburn won their first one and the second one is yet to be determined. Miles doesn't need a raise. He needs to have our guys ready to play 12 games a year. Period. We fall short at least once a year during the Miles era when he completely shits the bed and doesn't have his team prepared.

IMO, Neaux sir, he has incentives built into his K , He wins the SEC, he gets X amount of more dollars, he wins the MNC he gets X amount of more dollars, There's his raise right there. BTW, Didnt he already get more of a raise last year or was that just more years added to the K?

No.

Let other schools such as Arkansas and Tennessee overpay their coaches. Miles should bring home more hardware if he wants a raise.

I did not realize until today that Bielema and Jones salaries are so high because of buyout payments. This is not necessarily their salaries... I want to say each has around 1.5 mil buyout payments to their former programs.

Also, Miles would be the fourth highest in SEC... not third.

Then explain Bielema and Jones... even without their buyout money. Coaches salaries and raises as much as you would like to think otherwise are not performance based. They are market based and their value is whatever you are willing to pay for them to come or stay, whichever the case may be.

Lesson learned from the Koch Bros: Goods or services have no value - they are worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

No,
Les does get talent to LSU but under his tenure tell me a kid that got better under his guidance .

Every year the offense still takes wasted time outs. Les still seems to be meddling in the critical decisions in a game.

His background is the offensive line. When has LSU's line looked dominant against an SEC Defense.

He is just a figure-head that has been fortunate to succeed at times despite his decisions.

The National Championship game solidified my thoughts on Les and nothing has changed since then to make me reconsider.

He is currently the 7th highest paid coach in nation and 3rd highest in SEC. Saban obviously got a raise but brett Beilma makes 5.1million and Butch Jones 4.9million compared to Les at 4.4million (Stoops/Meyer also ahead) But should Les be second highest paid coach in SEC with his run of success?

You've got to b kidding right? He got a raise not too long ago, and he is going to have to bring some hardware to the table before I would feel food about another raise. LSU has the highest salary coaches in college football , and have fell short on some expectations, as far as coaching players up on discipline on the field and fundamentals. A few are overpaid, and one or two may be underpaid when compared to the overpaid coaches. We need to get back to winning a championship before we talk raises.
