Ever been to Austin? Ever been to Tuscaloosa? I'd leave in a heartbeat. With the money being thrown around by both schools, he and his family (and family's families) can be set for life, unless he throws it away with bad investments.

I'd leave, but I'd have 24hr security for me and the family

You can only take so much of Bama fans and he's burned out!

I'd be gone. I've never been to Tuscaloosa, but have driven by and it just looked like a terrible place. I honestly feel like I remember seeing a dirt road leading into the city.
This was way back during my drive to NO for the BCSNCG, so my memory is a bit skewed. Either way, Austin > Tuscaloosa.

The easiest road goes through Texas
It's the smart choice but well see if Saban is Bama or not
Bama has no where to go but down, and it's tough to consistently win with one or two programs chasing you in a conference. Alone 6-8 legit SEC programs hunting you down yearly. The SEC is a different animal and it has to wear most out these days. I would think Saban's Bama 72-8 run probally has been one of the most studied runs ever by opposite coaching staffs. Saban wouldn't face such an uphill battle at Texas at 1st. Plus it's a much tougher sell to the recruits with a rosters of 4-5 stars. I'd be open season at Texas and Saban would get the Julio Jones game changing type recruits for the next 1-3 years.

If it was me? I'd stay and intentionally run that shitty program into the fricking ground so bad that not even Jesus himself could resurrect it.

I'm starting to hope Saban leaves just for LSU's sake
Not all LSu fans, but many
I can't even imagine the disappointment from some LSU fans if Saban stays. With all you've been through the last 6 years this could send some off the edge of no return. Saban has kept a nice firing burning for LSU, Auburn, and other SEC programs too. Well, acce6pt Tennessse....lol LSU was starting to head downhill until Saban came back to Bama. That helped fuel LSU to good things if were honest about things, and it's done the same for Auburn. Good competition brings out the best in most competitors from my experiences.
The SEC will be less without Saban
But I think it might be best for Saban and Bama
If he goes to Texas and his syle isn't suited for longterm

Saban will ALWAYS be in the shadow of The Bear...Fact
More money in Austin....fact
Better and nicer city--Austin...FACT
Nicer facilities -- Texas... fact
Saban tired of the gump mentality ... fact
Could he build a program at Texas fast....yes...fact
Could he put an end to the speculation on ESPN....yes...fact
Since he hasn't done the above, each day that goes by leans more and more towards a deal in Austin... Fact
I think he gone...

Coaching aspect it is better to go to UT if the money is right.
If UT is offering 10 bazillionjillion and Bama is only offering 9.25. I'd be out of there in a heart beat.
Honestly UT would be stupid not to pay him whatever he wanted to get him in burnt orange. He is the best program reviver in college football. Kids want to play for him, he gets their moms wet just thinking about all the money.

Its not about Tuscaloosa v. Austin, its not about recruits, etc. Its about money, but not salary.
Its about making $7MM at Bama and retiring in 5 years $25MM in debt with a bad real estate debt tied to a personal guarantee looming versus making $10MM at Tejas with NO DEBT because a booster bought you out from under a bad land deal.
Bama, you want to keep Nick Saban, have a booster buy him out from this Beltway 8, LP mess he's in. That will ultimately be the deciding factor. Nothing else.

The only plus I see in staying is the continued association with the most storied college football program in the nation.

Texas offered $100 million. Bama's trying to match. Texas is going to up the bid by offering a piece of the Longhorn network. Bama's going to fold, and Saban's going to Texas. Oh, and that's what I'd do, too.
If Bama had a way to tap the average fan they could raise the $100 million in 10 minutes, but they don't. And they have no other way of raising it, either.

Doesn't matter because he's gone, and coach stud will be his strength coach. I've already told you people I know from a direct source so why is it still bring discussed as if its not a fait acompli?

Strength coach or eating coach?

I would stay in Tuscaloserville. Austin is a great city to live in, but the Texas alums are a whole different level of spoiled brat crazy.
It looks like the tiger faithful really want him to screw Bama and leave, but I just don't see it happening.

The choice is easy...you go...
The stars are perfectly aligned for you to have a shot at becoming beyond contestation, loved that line, the GOAT with winning three NCs at three different schools...a feat which would be one of the safiest records not to be broken...
I believe this is the biggest motivating factor because money is not the issue he's already loaded and the money is going to be there at Texas...
It's a no brainier you go...

When did you drive by, 1860?
Personally, I would stay. I don't like the state of Texas as a whole, and I don't see him coaching longer than 4 more years. Also, do people really think he's going to stay in either city after retirement? Hell no. He's going to his lake house in GA.
