Now not only do you have to live under the Bear's shadow, you have to live under Saban's.

10-2 first year and the "firekirbysmart, com" website is up

LSU kind of has the opposite situation, the shadow Miles casts is kinda weird looking and not very forboding.

I would say, this depends on the circumstances of Miles' departure.

Better question. What coach wants to go to the cluster over in Austin. Not Saban.

Saban can fix that real quick. Bama was a cluster too.

You have no idea how fast the turnaround would be.

It would still be a great job. Resources, reputation, facilities, upgraded and expanded stadium are all in place.

The pressure would be tough. 10-2 would not get coach on hot seat first year. Or at least it shouldn't.... Now back to back 9-3 seasons with some close wins and ugly losses and he'd be in trouble.

IF Saban were to leave, he'd be leaving the cupboard so damn full at Bama, it'd be set for the next coach

Yeah, but it's a tough coaching job. You have a lot of resources, but you deal with a lot of people with high expectations who also happen to be pretty stupid.

Probably not for the first 2-3 years until expectations are leveled back off...it always sucks following a legend.

Absolutely, you now get to live with the expectations of the Bear and Saban

It will need to be a big name or somebody that doesn't get rattled.

A big name would get more time and could weather a 10-2 type year.

Let's be honest, if they hired Kirby Smart, if they went 10-2, the fanbase would be concerned that the program would be in decline and would want him ousted before the snowball process begins. They would be irrational and would want a new hire fast.

Bama not a top job. Good history and all, but not a top landing spot. Especially since it's in Tuscaloosa.
