Gaming Board Awards Improvement Discussion: Award Nominations! (Draft page 8)

Hello GB,
As you know the 4th Annual Gaming Board awards are coming up soon. The official date is December 18th, next Wednesday. The voting within the Awards thread will be open until Friday, December 21st @ Noon. I will then create a new thread announcing the winners Friday at 5PM. In this thread I'd also like to take the opportunity to gather your feedback on how we could improve the 4th Annual Gaming Board awards. Split awards up into console type & pc? What new awards you would like to see? What old awards would you like to see removed?
Obviously, some things will remain the same and not everyone's ideas will be implemented, but these awards are in fact for you all so I will do my best to accomodate everyone's wishes.
Also, here is a link to previous Gaming Board awards for newbs and anyone wanting reference for improvement:
2012 - 3rd Annual Gaming Gaming Board Awards
2011 - 2nd Annual Gaming Board Awards
2010 - 1st Gaming Board Awards
Gotta run, but look forward to reading your feedback later on.
The Gaming Boards Award Nominations Draft is on Page 8
*This doesn't include Gaming Board Member Awards, those will not have nominations and will be left up to the voters during the official voting thread next week.

I want to recommend a "most quoteable poster award"
and
"poster most likely to get punched in the face IRL"
and

I'm guessing that voting opens 12/18?

There needs to be platform specific awards (Best PS3, Best PC, Best 3DS, etc.) and an award for every major genre across all platforms (best Action/Adventure, FPS, Strategy, Puzzle, etc). Of course, Game of the Year is the big one.
After those basics, things like best original soundtrack, best character, best indie, best new IP, Overrated/underrated, are categories that should be considered.
Looking back at last year, every console should have its own award. RPG/MMO definitely needs to be separated and RPG may need to be divided between JRPG and WRPG. I'd love to help out any way I can with nominations or whatever else.
I really liked the user awards though. I would keep as many of those as possible.

You're getting my vote for most informative poster.

Looks like there will be some repeats

That's a bit much, IMO. You don't want too many sub-categories and thin it out too much.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you've broken a bone more recently than I have?

Didn't you break it playing SOFTball?

yes
Is it just me, or does it seem that with next-gen releasing and the wave of players switching to PC that there hasn't been as much actual game talk and more console/pc/e-peen measuring this year?

And he broke his leg playing basketball. Your point?
