if they're that quick to name an interim for the bowl that means UT may not be getting Saban

I'd think a Saban hire would almost definitely be pre-bowl to get more recruiting momentum

this doesn't make sense... they would need to name an interim for the bowl. Chances are they ousted mack, he got pissed, acted like a child, doesn't want to coach the bowl. they need an interim, chose applewhite.. what does that have to do with saban?

I thought the same thing. But if you look at the bowl schedule Bama plays on Jan 2nd (I think) the dead period is until the Jan 16th so who knows maybe they just drag it out until bama is done in the sugar. Gives nick tremondus exposure and also causes a major side circus distraction for the BCS national championship game and lets Saban have all the attention there aswell!
