It's out of les's hands.

Saban is more powerful than the AD. He increased his own budget to hire new coaches as soon as the rule change happened.

Miles has to get approval from Alleva, who is busy worrying about sand volleyball.

Do you not remember us being linked to lyles? Or the self restrictions we imposed from the recruitment of hicks? I think LSU got close enough they had to step back. Plus the restrictions limited schollies and contact.

WTF? one of the most hotly contested and talented CB's (#2 composite NATIONALLY), that committed to us over a year ago (11/4/12) doesn't know what his position coach looks like?!?!

That is how you really interpreted that?

Yep. Toliver does not know what Raymond looks like. That is a shame and a problem when we're talking about being outworked.

Why don't someone introduce Miss April Justin to Laurence Jones' Mother?

I'd be funding her operation direct from LSU if it were up to me.

Fully legal. Mrs Justin, just take this cash and fly around the country and talk to moms of kids.

LSU Athletics is financially strapped.

Jindal gutted LSU with tremendous budget cuts. Athletics had to step up and take on more of academics financial obligations and agree to pay 7million per year to academics.

Athletics does have bayou country super fest to help out but need more money making avenues along with donors.

Instead of $40 parking in some areas, make it $20 all over. Maybe another concert series and ramp up the efforts to get LSU NFL tigers to donate.

I'll pay $20 a week if it'll help.

I think you're a little confused. The NCAA now allows unlimited recruiting by school personnel only on campus. So yes, Bama has hired an army of staff who is dedicated to keeping in contact with kids and working on them making visits, both unofficial and official. But the only sanctioned people who can travel and visit kids are the actual coaches on staff, just like it's always been.

Now if you want to talk about what's NOT legal and what's in the grey areas, that's a whole different discussion.

I'd be willing to bet Scotty Moran and other ultra rich boosters would be able to come up with some $ to get the ball rolling.

What about that new secN money? An extra 30 million per year or so is about to be given out to each school annually.

Take 10% and expand our staff.

I'm no attorney, and I'm sure they have smart guys that can find all of the loopholes, and there are some huge ones.

Saban LIVES in the grey areas and now with a toothless NCAA, he does whatever it takes.

I thought this all sounded fishy. OP is describing hiring street agents as mercenaries. It happens already, but there's no way the NCAA just made it legal.

Too bad LSU doesn't have a cricket team.

Sabah always urges former players now in the NFL to show up to players has games. Ingram was spotted twice at Malachi Dupre's games.

The rule changes were talked about at length on this site when they happened. I'm sure that thread is around somewhere.

I'd like to see it, or any link on the rule changes. As I said earlier I have a tough time believing that there is a loophole that would allow us more contact and we aren't using it.
