Magee is fast. He's not going to get caught from behind like Charles Scott or Hester did
Hester was actually very fast. This misconception comes up again and again when he is discussed. What he lacked was quickness -- lateral movement and elusiveness.

For having so little talent the guy sure did well in the NFL
Special teams and a FB who took a few snaps at RB.

4.62 40 yard dash is not fast

Style wise kevin faulk is the guy magee reminds me of. Ive said it magee's entire career going back to franklinton. Magee even had to play qb his last few years of high school like kevin did. If lsu's entire offense was centered around magee like it was around faulk a lot more people would see that comparison imo.

If Magee had Kevin Faulk's talent it would be.
Magee is good but your talking apples and oranges at this point in Magee's career at LSU.

I've said Faulk since watching him in high school.

No....Magee reminds me of Spencer Ware.

Remind me of Ware, in but a faster. More l ike 2010 Cotton Bowl Ware, than the battering ram he became in 2011

The Terrance Magee that ran all over TCU looked just like the Terrance Magee that ran all over Arkansas.
Terrance and LF will compliment each other nicely next year.

I said magee's style is like faulks. Both have great hands and similar running style. No clue if magee could carry a team like faulk did because we dont use our backs like that anymore

No not even close. I posted on Sept 2. Magee reminds me of Dalton Hilliard. Hilliard was the most successful pro back ever to come out of LSU. Look up his statistics. They're built the same. They're scorers. Very similar. I made that post after seeing him once. The coaches should have been playing him more from the beginning.

Hell no. Hester rarely had carries over 20 yards.

Also, they were both smaller backs that are very powerful.
Hester wasn't small. He wa drafted as a fb.

So proud of Magee... I enjoyed watching him his 4 years in high school. The young man is very quiet has a huge heart. And is very dedicated to the sport... The things i seen him pull off in the 4 years at Franklinton still blows my mind... Im so glad he chose to be a Tiger.. This young man will go a long ways in life rather it's Football or diffrent road.

I love me some Magee for a couple of reasons but they aren't the same as why I am a big Hester fan. After thinking about it, I kinda see some similarities but just not in their game.
They both seemed like an underdog going into their breakout seasons. They both run with all they have for every extra inch and with determination.
The differences, though, are kinda glaring to me. Hester had leg strength that I honestly haven't seen at LSU since his departure. I remember Scott running like a bull and people comparing them but Scott had to get up to speed to run strong while Hester did it from a standstill and just powered with his legs like in that Florida game where some of those 4th down extra inches were form his leg power alone after being stopped in his tracks.
That kind of leg power isn't very common. Maybe it was all about his dad getting his brothers and him to pull tires up a hill growing p? I love that story and it really rings true when you look at it like this.
Magee, however, is much faster but he was a breath of fresh air when I saw how hard he hits the holes. I often wondered why many LSU backs seemed to be a little too patient with waiting for holes to open. That can be a good thing at times of coarse. It is even called for on certain plays but it just seemed to happen way too much compared to what I saw from other program's backs.
I guess that there's something to say about being patient because I see Hill as a patient back but I just love me some Magee bursting through the LOS with mucho attitude.
Like I said, I love 'em both but done't see them as being similar.

example of terrible comparisons: Magee/Hestor, Magee/Ware.
ex of good comparison: Magee/Faulk

Mageeis a poor man's version of Kevin Faulk, and a rich man's version of Syrone Carey. Same body build. Also like the Dalton Hilliard comparison, but nobody since Dalton had his "anke breaking" open field moves.

Both will be great running backs but different.
