Either way high school games are crap compared to how many fans they brought pre Katrina. Shaw Rummel could bring out 10k people. Now maybe 3k.
well yeah that happens when one team ain't shite so their fanbase declines and the other team's fans don't want to see a crappy game
rummel in the last few years has played a lot more important games than shaw

Yeah, though Shaw has played for 4 state titles in the past decade even though they crapped the bed when they got there. Shaw is having bad enrollment problems though. Moving back to 5A is going to set their program back. They don't have the numbers to compete.

I think they had 55-60 kids dressed for one game...

It wasn't just one game, it's their whole team. I think I counted 57 guys on the roster in the Rummel game. Shaw has one of the top 20 high school rugby teams in the country right now, and I assume that with the small numbers, several guys who could contribute to football are instead on the rugby pitch.

that is correct... not too mention Shaw since the hammering in 2001 is scared out of there skull to do what some other schools are doing.
changing demographics on the west bank is a HUGE factor - for catholic schools as a whole... not just shaw...
and shaw has NEVER pulled from east bank.. but a kid that starts for another catholic league school - but lives where he can smell the cafeteria food at shaw...
the effort being put in a shaw is commendable though.
better/easier transportation routes across the river have hurt a little too....especially going to river ridge/severn....
I am still surprised how they recovered from the debacle in 2002....

Not one, many, many kids who are major players for other schools are from the westbank. Brother Martin has plenty of westbankers, and HC/St Aug/Jesuit/Rummel have taken a good amount too. Curtis gets plenty of kids from the area near the Huey. And on the girls side, I don't even know how AOL stays open.

What should Parkway expect from Covington tomorrow?

2000 was when WM beat them 35-7 in the finals. What happened to them in 2001?

What happened to shaw in the early 00's?

They cheated. Dating back to the late 90s. Financial aid shite

Shaw isn't getting the best black kids in the area anymore. Players like Pat Riley and Ryan Clark aren't walking through those doors.

Shaw isn't getting anyone through the doors lately.
