The suicide rate in Tuscaloosa would climb astronomically if CFB's version of Cosmo Kramer replaced Saban.

There was no way Ed was ever in serious consideration for the USC job, not with all of the "flashier" candidates out there.

Sark is an offensive coach. If Ed O is so highly thought of at USC, why not ask him to stay on there as DC?

What, and take away the title of recruiting coordinator from Frank Wilson?

The Frank Wilson that may be the most important coach on our staff not named Les Miles?

Nah. Coach O is a great recruiter and he'll do well somewhere but he's not a good fit for LSU at this time.

Sure. He's a great recruiter. And our current D line sucks.

Your thread title kind of makes it sounds like you want to hire him for Miles.. when Miles retires.

Would like for it to happen, but unfortunately it won't. USC is probably going to throw a lot of money at Coach O to keep him around to pacify the players.

didn't someone, I think ESPN in fact report that Orgeron resigned when he wasn't selected as HC... so is he still with USC even?

I don't know how you parsed that, but okay...it's obviously not what I meant.

Not a chance in hell O gets hired by UT as head coach. I mean, there's a reason why USC passed on him after the success and supporters he had.

He has no chance coaching USC. He doesn't fit in with the L.A. crowd, to say the least.

Orgeron is an egotistical jerk. He burns bridges wherever he goes and is totally classless.

He is an industrial version of Lane Kiffin and I do not want him anywhere around LSU.

Maybe Ole Piss would want his sorry arse back. The fact that he hired "Petie" Jenkins speaks volume for this guy.

NO, he has openly expressed his dislike of LSU over the years. Let's not go down the "low road."

For all the hype that FW gets, the recruiting classes the last few years are not balanced and have too many holes. You're seeing that now on the OL and in all defensive positions, especially the DL. Don't care about star ratings, class rankings and all that BS. Orgeron may be a better overall Recruiting "Coordinator." FW can still recruit and coach RB''s, but be replaced as RC.

Orgeron wants to be a HC. He's not taking an assistant job.

Why would you kick Sam in the arse? Has he ever not delivered on the athletes needed for the program? The coaches on the field may not have delivered on the potential of those players for far too many years(Hallman, DiNardo, Archer) to piss off a fan base, but players were still taken into the NFL from his classes. Let him choose when to go.

“I want to be the head coach at USC,” Orgeron said two weeks ago. “I love being a head coach. I think that it’s something I’m able to do, and do well. And I want to be the head coach at USC when I get the chance. I think I can perform on a very high basis to do what the Trojan family wants me to do.”

Ed's IQ might be single digit.

Is it me or should he have said, "I think I can perform at a very high level"? What the hell does I think I can perform on a very high basis mean? These kinds of statements reinforce usc's decision. A 4th grader wrote the remaining portion of his statement.
