lsumatt, what is your feeling on the Cotton Bowl chances today?

I'm starting to think that the Cotton may have Missouri and Auburn ahead of LSU; which effectively pushes our Tigers to the Chicken/Outback/Gator bowls.

quote:

If I were a betting man I would say 50% Cotton, 40% Outback, 5% Chicken, 5% Gator

Looking back at your predictions, I'd go with:

60% Gator, 30% Chicken, 5% Cotton, 5% Outback

First I am thinking the Cap One could (maybe 50/50) take Auburn over SC, which is ideal. That sends SC to Outback and basically locks up Cotton for LSU, but I think they jump on SC over Mizzou.

If Cap One did pass on Auburn for SC, the Cotton could take Auburn (actually forced to by the safety net rule) and then the Outback LSU. The Cotton would be fine with that, but I wonder if some back room deals don't go one to put Auburn in the Outback and LSU in the Cotton - that makes more sense geographically.

If Mizzou loses Saturday and gets passed up by the Cap One, the Outback gets them if the want and usually they wouldn't blink at an 11-2 SEC East team. But Mizzou is so far away, they could pass on them sending Mizzou to Cotton. I am also worried the Outback takes 8-4 Georgia over LSU, sending us to the Chicken or Gator.

The real wrench in all of this is that Auburn is a west school and about as east as you can get and Mizzou is an east school and about as west as you can get.
