Aggies seem to be impressed with Tiger Stadium.

Aggies seemed to think we put on a good show
"I heard that tiger neck song for the first time and I absolutely love it. Not the vulgar version Just get that tiger neck nick or whaever they say. WOW. but the real song. No wonder all their fans get into the game. It's short, has a great beat, and the hand version is terrific. Even the old timers do it. That place makes Kyle look like a cemetery. Our milkmen don't even do yells for us and the songs we have are so drawn out and LONG and stiff. LSU fans know how to enjoy a game and they don't need a jumbotron or cell phones to do it. Just get that tiger neck nick or whaever in the hell they say. Cool."

The environment was much better. LSU is the best when it comes to band/fan interaction. Figure out a way to deal with the other stuff without canceling songs.

Can't be true. The student section sucks. Take away all of their tickets. The aren't ever loud. They ruin everything.

I like that thread
quote:
The song worked. White people (gasp! can you believe it??!) everywhere in the stadium had their hands raised and bumping them up and down with the music.
I never knew what the song was saying until I read it later on TexAgs. But nevertheless - it worked.
We need more rap at Kyle. This is 2013 and 95% of the players that we cheer for are from the HOOD. 95% of the recruits we desperately need are from the HOOD. Hello? Do whatever it takes to win games and to win recruits. Who cares what the people think in the stands. And I don't care how white button-down you are.... If you're winning...and you hear some gangsta hip hop that has a great beat.... You'll start bobbin in those khakis, too
The players were JACKED because of that stupid song. They wanted to rip our players facemasks off!!!
quote:
.Scariest/most intimidating part of that whole experience was when the PA announcer said "Ladies and gentleman, it is now officially saturday night in Death valley"
Was not fun.
quote:
Y'all say whatever you want talking crap about it, but Kyle is a cemetery compared to Tiger Stadium. The music energized the crowd and people were into the game.
quote:
I didn't mind the music. They definitely have more energy in the crowd than we do except for our absolute biggest of games. Tailgating wasn't massive but everyone was super cool and nice. We were shocked. I kelp waiting for someone to talk trash and it never came. We had a blast except watching out team play completely uninspired. The suck the tiger d song was absolutely sung and acted out throughout the stadium, not just the student section. The people next to us were saying how they've tried very hard to get rid of it but it just won't die. Being cold and wet for three hours sucked though.
quote:
Considering the weather, I thought LSU fans were very loud and into the game. They do all their yells and cheers, and all the old guys are standing up yelling off and on throughout the game. In my opinion, they are way more into the game than our old Ags.
We got there about 4 hours early and there were tailgaters on every corner of campus. I saw lots of LSU tailgates welcoming A&M fans, including us (free beer, food, etc). Despite the crappy weather and crappy performance by our team, it was a great gameday experience. Anyone saying otherwise, was sitting their butt on the couch and finding excuses to complain about music selection. What you didn't see was LSU special teams players getting into the music and running around pumping up the crowd and student section during the TV timeouts prior to kickoffs. The place was going nuts.

I cant express this enough. The mood on those kickoffs really held throughout the next drive, every time.

I will say, the crowd at the game definitely showed up. Wasn't 92000 people but the ones that were there were loud

If the two teams were playing a game with national title implications, they would know why Death Valley is commonly referred to as the loudest place to play in the country.

The campus had plenty of garbage cans but LSU fans don't seem to know how to use them. The amount of garbage left all over the campus bordered on disrespect and a sight I hope never happens at A&M. Clean up after yourselves.
The most truth in that entire thread...

I got physically ill last year during the bama game due to the noise we were making... It was awesome.
My entire body ached at the end after a full day of pregame and then the game.

Except the part about plenty of garbage cans. That just isn't true.
But come back on campus at 11 the next morning and you will hardly know there was a game the night before.

the second page on TexAgs is full of butthurt

that just means LSU has people clean it up, that doesn't mean its okay for people to throw trash everywhere. The trash has been a problem for a long time. So many people don't have the decency to hold on to their trash until they find a trash can. The trash our fans left in Dallas was embarrassing. LINK

You're welcome. It was my first game in TS in almost 20 years. I'm just getting my voice back.

I don't know about "ill" but during the "Bring Back the Magic Game", I could feel the vibrations in the roots of my teeth. 2007 Florida? When the USC score was announced, the already amped crowd found an imaginary higher gear - like a sound from some infernal region that we collectively evoked or summoned, rather than generating it ourselves - that was the first time I became conscious of my eyeballs vibrating in Tiger Stadium - I felt that again during the comeback against Bama in 2010.
It looked like we were getting there last Saturday, but if they were impressed with that, they should have faced a good team during the olden times when Tiger Stadium was truly, truly intimidating (and it will be again in 2014 - Bama comes to town, yet again. I suspect the Ole Miss crowd will be rocking next year, too - of course depending on kickoff time and weather for these more sensitive, 21st century LSU fans.)
