It's really a tragedy Chris Farley is dead

Because he would play an excellent Rob Ford, Toronto's mayor who did crack. The guy is oblivious and would be perfect for Farley to portray him. I'd green light that film immediately and hire the funniest screenwriter I could afford to do a mockumentary of Farley portraying him. It's sad, because it seems to have been a role he was born to play.

Maybe Chris Farley isn't really dead but just faked his own death and assumed a new identity only to become the mayor of Toronto?
Chris Farley loved drugs and hookers too...just throwing that out there......

The thing is, he died before he could give a more "serious" comedic effort. It seems many comics start with slapstick and then move on to show us some real acting chops.
We'll never know if he could have pulled off a role like that besides from being fat.
*I am not aware of a less slapstick role, so inform me if I missed something.

No idea there were death photos of him. Now I'm sad about his death all over again.

I swear I didn't. It's just the Matt Lauer interview where he talks about getting blasted out of his mind made me realize how brilliant Farley would be at it.

Kevin James will star in that movie now.

It's really a shame. Could've been some real classics had he not died.

Him and Bob Odenkirk worked well together.

He was very well liked among his peers too. Comedy, to me anyway fades proportionally as vanity increases, and that dude didn't have a vain bone in his drug-addled body. He & Hartman both had a lot of funny stuff yet to make.

There really so much we missed with him gone. Farley and Hartman both really.

Read The Chris Farley Show. Wonderful yet gut wrenching look at the man from several accounts.

I own it. I need to re-read it, now that you mention it.

This poses an interesting question. Kevin James is a regular in Adam Sandler movies now and his career has progressed from just a standup comic to a successful film career. Would he have the same level of success if Chris Farley were alive?
I am sure he would still have some success. His stand-up is pretty funny. But there are only so many "fat guy doing funny stuff" roles out there. What do you guys think?

Farley was a really likable guy.He had his demons.
I can imagine Chris Farley,John Belushi,Sam Kennison,John Candy,etc...sitting around in Heaven cracking on each other.
