49ers' Ahmad Brooks calls the flag "bull$hit"

"I didn’t hit him with my hand or my helmet,” Brooks said. “I basically bear-hugged him. That’s just how football is played. I think this shite is bullshite. Football, the way they call stuff these days, it’s watered down. It ain’t real no more."

How can any non-saints homer disagree?

I agree, flag should have not been thrown.

saints fan
i do not agree with the call
that being said, after all the BS calls that the 9ers got against the Saints for 20 years, I will take this one

I think the ripping Brees down by the neck drew that flag.

Yeah, around his neck. It's a penalty. He made it worse by pulling him down by his neck.
Sorry you're stupid Ahmad

The rule may suck but the call was a proper interpretation of the rule. If Brooks should be mad at anyone, it should be his offense for gaining less than 200 yards all game.

Love people that act like the NFL decided to make a clothesline illegal yesteray. Not 30 years ago, but yesterday they decided it should draw a flag.

Contact was at sternum, Drew's wobbly arse neck jolting made it look worse. Calling it a clothesline is a little much.
But given the way the rule is worded it's not in bullshite territory, and the outcome of a game is the sum of 60 minutes of play, never just one. I get the frustration but the team as a whole needs to move on and stfu and get ready for Washington.

Terrible call.
Brees said he didn't remember much. How come no concussion evaluation?

I am looking for a different gif but his only options coming off the block
1. to make that tackle
2. take himself out of the play
You are penalizing the D for doing their job, why not punish the tackle for not doing his?

it was BS and it gave the Saints the game. this is what makes the NFL almost unwatchable anymore.
The non-safety call on Kaepernick a few mintues later was also BS.
the NFL prides itself on trying to negate game changing plays. they think watching refs stand around with headphones on is more exciting than seeing a DE crush a QB and cause a game-changing fumble.

Just had to wrap around his chest. He put his arm around Brees neck and drug him to the ground by the neck. It can't be an easier call based on the rules of the game. And this isn't even a new one.

Watching his neck makes me every time.
But Saints fans need to get over people saying this. Yall won, get over people saying the 49ers were robbed.
Bad calls went both way. I think if your going to call the one against Breesus when there was a receiver somewhat close to the area (at least thats the way it looked from the camera), and not on the 49ers when he was still in the pocket, then I think things are about even.

There's more to that play- watch the rest of the tackle. He clearly yanks him down by his neck. Questionable call, but to say it was a terrible call is stupid. There are plenty of truly terrible calls that get made.

Harbagh's bitch whining is rubbing off on his players. Not surprising really.

That high on the sternum is considered the "neck area" which is the terminology in the rulebook.
It's a hit the refs have been paying extra attention to this year.
