Hey guys, I'm new to the area and gearing up for duck season. I was wondering if anyone knew of someone close that would pluck ducks for you. Not opposed to doing it myself, but if it's fairly cheap, it would be worth it to me.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks fellas.

I'll do it for $20 a bird.
That sounds like a good deal to me.

Take me hunting, buy me a six of GOOD beer (my choice, but reasonable) and I'll clean your legal limit.

if i don't just fillet the breast meat out, i've found that plucking the breast only and pulling the whole breast off is a good middle ground
does away with all of the pain in the arse plucking, but you still get some skin/fat which will be better for making a gravy, etc.
it helps that we don't kill a lot of big ducks, so i dont feel like i'm losing out on much by doing it this way

Oh geez. It appears I've angered the interwebs.
I was thinking someone had one of these LINK and could do it pretty quick for, I don't know, $5.
Shake the haters bro. If I knew someone that would pick ducks for me, I'd pay them for sure.
Doing so gets you a nap in before the ball games start.

I'd pay that in a heartbeat when I am the lucky one who decides to take the birds and it's gonna be a solo effort. However, when it's a group cleaning, that's when we bullshiz the most so then, no.

I quit plucking when PaPa passed, he would whip my arse if he saw all the legs I've thrown away. He always had me a tub of wax to work with so it wasn't that bad. But it was back in the day when you could only kill three.

if you hunt every day and kill lots of birds, it would be worth the effort to find someone. Surely there's some old lady in the country near Gonzales who wants some extra money. Make sure i get my gizzards tho. Otherwise, I just do it myself.

I breast some, but all my picking is done by a Gueydan place. They do ok, I don't give a shite what anyone thinks about it

Not a bad idea. I'd consider it, like you said, depending on the size.
