Ok, I have a couple of curve ball names:
Blake Miller
Chris "Big Axe" Truax
They are LSU blue bloods and have solid backgrounds.....granted, Axe can be fricking scary.

I just don't understand why we've had so many issues with the o-line and offense when our head coach is a former o-lineman and offensive coach. I bet highly touted high school o-linemen have been reading posts from idiot negatigers and choosing to commit elsewhere. And I bet current players' performances are affected by negatiger negativity.

Todd McClure. Recently retired from Atlanta Falcons and a former Tiger.

Conrad Dobler - let's get somebody that knew how to play rough on the OL

Six pages and no one has mentioned this guy:
Could really help us out in recruiting North Louisiana. Ensminger is from North Louisiana but apparently that don't mean shite.
quote:
Rob Sale, who played at LSU and then served on Nick Saban’s coaching staff at Alabama, joined McNeese State as the Cowboys’ offensive line coach in February 2012.
The 34-year old coach is a native of Monroe, played high school football at Neville High and college ball at LSU where he was a three year starter in the offensive line.
Sale, who earned his degree from LSU in 2003, had served on the Alabama football staff for the past five years, being a member of two national championship teams (2009 and 2011). Among the positions he held with the football team were those of weight room assistant coach and offensive video analyst.
He had launched his coaching career in 2006 as the offensive line coach at Catholic High of Pointe Coupee and joined Alabama in 2007.
As a player at LSU, he played in 35 games with 25 starts, starting all 13 games in his senior year of 2002 at right offensive guard. As a junior he saw starting action at both center and guard when the Tigers won the SEC title and he played left guard as a sophomore, starting the final five regular season games as well as the Peach Bowl. In high school he was an all-state selection as both a junior and a senior at Neville.

I think he played HS at Central (in Red Stick)?

Correct. No one will be hired at LSU as a position coach without proving it (coaching and recruiting) somewhere else first. Same thing was told to Ben Wilkerson.
Ben Wilkerson won't be in the NFL Hall of Fame. Mawae stands a very big chance. He probably learned a few things along the way.
Besides, someone posted that Studs house is for sale. Supposedly heard it from a friends who lives across the street. Might be nothing..on the other hand might be something.

those last 4 plays vs. Bama were just a comedy of errors. not just the OL either, Dickson blew a block on 1 play that just cause a chain reaction of bad stuff (La'el leaves his man to get Dickson's, Vadal doesn't pick up La'el's man, Dickson is just standing there defeated).
Same thing happened at GA. LSU had a great chance and plenty of time to at least get in field goal range.

he ever had a o line man go 1st round?
What difference does this make? CLM is a bad coach because he hasn't had an O lineman go in the first round? BFD!

When the competition is having OL drafted in the 1st rd and you compete against them for recruits, it would be nice to say we're a good launching pad to the NFL for OL.
Somewhat in defense of our program on this, Will Arnold would have been drafted (projected 5th rd had he come out early after '06), Ciron was likely a 1st rd pick before being injured, and Faulk would likely have been drafted high had he not been injured as well. Injuries haven't been kind to us.

I can't disagree, but if you look at our "competition", since 2005 (aside from Alabama which has had 4 O-Linemen drafted in the 1st round since 2009), six SEC schools have had O-Linemen drafted in the 1st round: Ole Miss (2); Auburn (1); Vandy (1); Florida (2); & Texas A&M (1).
Kyle Williams was only a 5th round pick in 2006, but wound up being one of the highest paid O Linemen in the NFL. We haven't had a lot of 1st rounders over the years, but we have had put some good O-Line players in the pro's. More would help!

I've heard of a guy that "played" o-line in college, coached linemen at Michigan and the University of Colorado. Later, he became a Offensive Coordinator and Head Coach @ Oklahoma State. Also, he spent time in the NFL coaching tight ends. Wait a minute, that's our current Head Coach. You know him, the same man who can't produce top round NFL talent considering his whole coaching history is based on his "offensive" mind.

I think we should hire coach Stubrawaaara

Does not matter. You would more likely see Javi replaced before Miles will replace Stud, Ensminger or Raymond and even brick bat. Complete house cleaning needs to begin after the pigs kick our a$$

Yes, we have seen more indications that something could be afoot regarding the Tigers' OL coach. I am sure some of it is wishful thinking, but the talk and speculation about Strudrawa's future appears to be much more prominent this season than ever before.
While we won't know for certain probably until after the season ends, here's hoping a much needed upgrade is made by LSU at the OL coaching position. I'll say again that a program of LSU's caliber is capable of doing much better than what we have seen this season & it is definitely time for a change at OL coach.
I have little doubt that most of the names mentioned in earlier threads would be a considerable improvement.
