Mutemath has a great stage show and mobley is great.
Not sure how that's going to go over In a seated theatre.

Both shows are going to be good .... Saint Rich is going on at 10:30 and BB after, so you can make both shows. And you will likely need a beer after sitting in a dry theater.

That was... interesting.
Say what you will, but Mobley was pretty fricking awesome. And for the record, they were not handing out free blunts. Somewhat disappointed.

Glad you enjoyed seeing Mobley! We'd love to hear suggestions on how to make our shows the best they can be.
Are you familiar with Adam Dale? He is opening for Mat Kearney this Friday in the second show of the Union Sessions. Hope to see you there!

Ummm, perhaps give us more than six days advance notice that you have these interesting artists coming?
Please don't take this the wrong way. I ran into Kearney years ago when he was opening for a then-unknown Brandi Carlile. I've continued to follow both acts as favorites of AAA taste-maker Birmingham Mountain Radio. Now that -- thanks to your post -- I know that MK will be here next Friday, I'll probably pop for tix.
But before I spend my $$ it would be nice to have some backing... support from you and "Union Sessions". Website? Mission statement? Who are you?
Again, no offense is meant, but out the the blue someone new is bringing a new level of interesting modern acts to BR. It would be nice to know what and whom my $$ is supporting.
See you next Friday.

Thank you for your constructive criticism! We are constantly looking for ways to improve.
Platform is a Baton Rouge-based event productions company.
The goal is to bring acts to Baton Rouge so that going to New Orleans or Lafayette isn't necessary. There isn't much to do in Baton Rouge and we'd like to change that.
Also, for each show we are pairing a regional act (i.e. Mobley, Adam Dale) with a larger national act to help potentially springboard some local talent into the spotlight. If you know anyone trying to make it in the music scene, please send us a sample of their work - one of the best parts of the job is listening to new music, especially when the artists are passionate about their work.
Additionally, each of our shows benefits a non-profit. The first two shows of the Union Sessions are donating a portion of the proceeds to American Cancer Society.
The website is still being perfected, but if you'd like to take a look it is platform225.com More info will be added this week.
We're new, we're learning, and we're excited. I hope this helped answer some of your questions.
Edit: article to prove we're 2 legit 2 quit

1. Advertise. There was 0 promotion for this show
2. The different tickets were useless. I bought the VIP tickets and the cheapest ticket holders were able to come to the front with us. Wasted 40 extra bucks
3. For those that bought the VIP tickets, we had to call the Union to figure out where to go for pre-show party and at what time. An email would be nice for those details

This board should be a great resource for you then. (See Carson's post. No sugarcoating, he got screwed.)

Not even close. Mobley still has some fine tuning to do. They are a really good band and are very enjoyable. It's just that Mutemath is on another level right now doing things that other bands like Mobley are still trying to figure out.
No hate towards Mobley, I just didn't think they were better that night than MM. If anything, they should have learned from MM's performance to make their shows even more enjoyable.
I would love to see those two bands paired together for another show.

It is an excellent resource. We are excited and we are learning. It's extremely helpful to hear feedback on how to make the experience more enjoyable for you.
