I think the Pels won for no other reason than the fact the I was never really a Hornets fan. I never felt a connection with them, I only watched them a little bit while CP3 was here. I'm not gonna say I'm gonna be a die hard fan, but I will definitely be watching this team this season. It it because of the Re-brand? Partly, yes but also because they've already shown me that they want to win, and soon.

Ah ok. It starts right after the 59:00 mark.

Also, later around the 1:06:00 mark, after finding out NOLA gave up the first next year he compliments us on the trade and says we've done a nice job of rebuilding.

Fwiw, I'm not trying to shite on Simmons and act like he's a moron. His position on the trade is fine. He's just had about 5 of them.

Here's the deal. You could argue that we should wait to determine who "won" the trade, I suppose, in the abstract. However, I'm absolutely sure that it was a good move for the Pelicans based upon the circumstances.

Precisely. 'Worst' case scenario it was a good trade for both teams. There's no way the Pelicans next draft pick is any better than 10th. And I still think Noel's skill ceiling is Davis. So it made perfect sense to trade him for a need.

Noel's ceiling is not davis' considering that davis' ceiling is pretty much David Robinson at this point.

If Pels hadn't made the trade, they'd be back in the lottery, so while Philly won't get 2 lotteries, the Pels would have. Who says Pels would have drafted Noel anyway?

They had to draft Noel at that point. It was Noel or Burke, I think they would have taken the chance on Noel.

man if we would've kept noel and tanked the season we'd be sitting pretty. twin towers in AD and NN, with a top 5 draft pick in the upcoming stacked draft. we could've been a dynasty. now we're stuck with no C, a turnover prone PG and an injury prone SG and 6th man. FML

we botched that trade

I think you go with McLemore and start looking to dump Gordon, who wouldn't have been as motivated to get healthy with no Jrue and Tyreke.

But Demps probably would have just made a different trade. He wasn't spending another year hoping to win the lottery.

damn looks like we got lucky with that, but since the 76ers are pretty much tanking already, it sounds like they will be okay.

It's the right thing to say even if they plan on him coming back at the end of the season. They just went through the media countdown game with Bynum last year.

I know some very intelligent basketball people were warning against him because of his injury history and slender frame.
