Why is everyone still harping on this fact? The game should have been decided well before the final 29seconds.

Chavis cost us this game plain and simple.

As a head coach, you're supposed to give your team the best chance it has to win the game no matter how you've played. Miles failed to do so.

2 not happening is forgivable because there is a legitimate opposition you have to conquer.

Happening in 4 straight losses is not forgivable.

29 seconds is enough to run at least 3 plays?
All we need is a field goal.

If you don't know why, you probably shouldn't be watching football period.

He should have called a time out but this is the same coach 4 years ago who let 20 seconds run off the clock for no reason

Our defense played like shite no doubt and should have stopped Ole Piss on that last drive but like you said that game should have been decided well before the 29sec and for that there is a lot of blame to go around not just Chavis or the defense. Case in point Mett's 3 ints, Chavis and the defense had nothing to do with that obviously. So if Mett doesn't throw those int's do you think the outcome is different?

Plenty of blame to go around, Chavis and his defense are part of the equation for defeat last night not the entire equation.

So much epic fail by numerous posters here. Let me set the record straight for some of you. First of all, we did have 1 timeout left ( for the poster who said we didnt). Second, any reasonable sensible coach would have called timeout with 29 sec left. The argument of he would have thrown another int, it wouldnt changed the outcome...yada yada yada is just plain ignorant. You give yourself a chance to either win the game or tie the game. Our offense was rolling in the 4th qtr. It was the wrong move, it was a dumb mive calling a timeout with 6 sec left. Where is the outrage that he fricking called it with 6 sec left. If you going to call it...do it with 3 sec. But to not call it with 29 sec was an atrocity, and anyone who says otherwise have no clue about the college game.

How does it go... insanity is doing the same thing over and over again with the same negative results?

Hey gray we get it you're a positiger who thinks les can do no wrong...maybe you should be positive when it comes to the end of games and not give up down 3 with 25 seconds left only needing 3 to tie.

29 seconds gives your TEAM a chance. As ahead coach you should do everything in your power to give your team every chance at victory. Would 29 seconds have been enough? Not a high probability, but atleast you have a chance.

Just call the timeout, it's a no brainer

Even the Ole Miss fans couldn't believe it after the game. Every one asked why Les didn't call a timeout when it would have mattered.

Actually if you don't call it with .29 seconds left you don't call it with .03 seconds left you either. You let Ole Miss use their time outs to stop the clock and then you use your time out prior to the field goal to try and ice the kicker. But either way Miles should have called the TO with .29 seconds left and he basically admitted that after the game. He knows, but unfortunately too late.

The stupidity in this thread is monumental. Les admitted he called a time out. So those saying we didn't have one can shut up. The people who don't think 30 seconds matter or that is was defensive game plan, really? Your defense had already failed and it was 4th and field goal. You take the time out because it gives you a chance. If you don't comprehend that, then you probably love les miles.

Having a .5% chance of winning is better than having a .00001% chance.

Not calling a timeout, while only costing yourself a small win % chance, is still an elementary level mistake.
