I think it is time to scrap the entire program and start from scratch.
if by "program" you mean "university" and "from scratch" you mean "fire every administrator involved" then we would agree.

I was shocked they cut ties with Doug Williams. I can't imagine that does much to foster good will with an alumni base that LOVES Doug Williams.
It appears that they shouldn't have hired him in the first place the 2nd time around. He did not have the staff he used to have during his first stint.
Another thing that was holding the team back (on the field) was Doug letting his son be the starting QB. DJ Williams is not very good.

this has to be one of the most bizarre sports stories ive ever heard. shame on grambling officials and the state.

If it wasn't for the taxpayers supplementing their program about 5 million dollars every year...there would be no Grambling football...for that matter, all the schools in the state would be up the ole creek without a paddle except LSU and Tulane.

True dat. They should have already known he was going to ruffle feathers in the administration and try to actually get things done without going through all the red tape BS.

I can't speak to this having not seen him play, but I'm always at least a little suspect of the coach's son being the "star" player and whether or not it's actually earned.

so what is the absolute latest the team can board the buses? what time will be "too late"?

so, i'm assuming if the players don't show up for the game, the University will be able to take away their football scholarship? I'm assuming you can't just take University funds and then decide that you aren't going to play, right?

I would think they're getting close to not fulfilling their end of the scholarship agreement. I don't know the exact language, but this has to be close.

Or maybe Grambling hasn't been holding up their end.

Let's field a team of MSB'ers and head up there tomorrow.
I'll play QB. Boosie woosie should be one of my receivers

Quite honestly they would be doing the taxpayers of this state a favor of they shut the whole institution down.

Both the administration and the players are handling this situation poorly.
quote:Aren't they trying to basically bring attention this? I think that would be handling it effectively, again if true.
Hopefully the attention this is getting will bring more eyes on the quagmire that is that entire "University".

This situation is kinda silly, but can you imagine if the players on every SEC team unified and started a strike?
I have to think they'd get whatever they wanted out of that deal
He says if NCAA players were to really unite and take a stand for wanting to be paid as athletes, the night before the national title game, the 2 teams playing would simply say they BOTH won't take the field the next night unless they're promised a deal.
That would be nuts.
