Make it stop
It won't. LSU fans love to get on their soapboxes and boast about how they are the greatest fanbase in the world, and nobody else comes close. Tiger Stadium is the most raucous stadium, etc. We flame and spam and troll any national media outlet that dares to list us anywhere below #1.

Given that as a backdrop, you then get many, MANY games where the stadium has big stretches of open seating on full display, captured on television. Our responses/excuses- not a big game; game is a blowout; it's too early; it's too hot/cold/rainy; traffic/parking is terrible. And, of course, the "frick you, it's my money" justifications.

We (LSU fans) come across as drunken, idiot braggarts who puff out their chests but don't have any heart. I can only imagine what fans of northern teams who get snow late in the season would say.

Would this be an issue if we were just a "normal" fanbase? Nope; but since we all insist we be credited as the greatest fans of all time, don't be surprised as this gets made into a bigger story before it goes away.

we have had season tickets for 20 years now.

Over the last few years the pregame and post game traffic has gotten significantly worse. Couple that with the changes in on campus parking it has become a much less enjoyable experience each year.

I have been going to LSU games since the late 70s and since 2003 the sheer number of people on campus on game day has seemed to increase by many times. Even in 2003 when we weren't tailgating we could leave home 2 hours before kickoff - get there park and walk in - and be in our seats LONG BEFORE the band took the field and that included a couple of stops along the way...

In that same time each year subtle changes have happened to the fan base - making it less enjoyable each year.

No we likely won't give up our tickets, but we may end up just selling them.

As for the heat... no hotter than some other early season games.......A lot of folks going to the game now like to see and be seen then bolt. Hey.. they paid so be it.

We are a spoiled lot...always have been.

LSU needs to fix the traffic problem before the stadium expansion is completed but.. then again at what point is too much enough?

Two top ten teams - and 15k no shows... that's over a hundred K in ticket purchases thrown away...

the now shows don't affect LSU except in concession sales....

all in all.. if this doesn't get LSU off it's behind nothing will..

maybe they know... X people will still pay... and Z people will show up no matter what...

I remember in the last game curly coached looking around and seeing 15 k or more empty seats... against a cusa team.....that got him fired........

but college football and LSU have indeed changed a great deal in the 20 years since then.

I never thought I would say this.. but nowadays.. especially with some of those sitting around me and on campus now.. I would rather be home...

That's my favorite declaration of defiance spewed out from the arrogant and self absorbed Cheesers. Frick em all.

I'd give this two up votes if I could.

You nailed it.

Anyone that had to endure the abortion that we call the "Hallman years," Wouldn't take a win for granted. Any win. That is what's happened. Our fanbase has gotten spoiled.
