I just want to chime in and bitch about people showing up late. I'm on a walkway level and there were people showing up to the game at the end of the 1st quarter looking for seats. I'm sure some of these same people were leaving early too. It's comedy to me.
This is what happens when the game in and of itself becomes the social event rather than tailgating. The social event at LSU is usually the tailgating and pre-game (as you could call it) and the game was an actual game for the fans too, not just the player. Now fans all over the stadium just feel obligation to show up.
It's like going to a party that you don't really care about just to be "seen" and keep up appearances. The Frat stars and a lot of the student section are like this as are many of the other sections through out.
For God's sake, the student section decided it was more appropriate to play with balloons in the student section instead of cheering while UF was on offense on an important drive. That alone told me why the kids were there.

But he DESERVES to get tickets for the biggest game of the year for face value.
Over the past few years, I can barely give away tickets if the opponent isn't named Alabama. With all of the empties on this past Saturday, I would be surprised if there weren't tons at or below face. Arizona and Washington a few years ago, had to eat the tickets. Great weather and tried selling them for $5 or $10. No takers.
If you want tickets for the Bama-type games for a reasonable price, purchase season tix like nearly everyone else has to do. Have fun paying face value for Furman instead of getting a $5 ticket at the game though.

You know why attendance is declining? Television mandated kickoff times. Earlier and earlier, hotter and hotter. Ironic that the media is bitching about a problem the media is responsible for.
I went ahead and drew this up and made some graphs. Have fun with it.
And for people who don't like graphs here's the written up version.

Soooo what did SVP say?
Mostly about Maryland. He did mention a study and Bama and UGA attendance down.
IMO, the most accurate thing he said was its today's generation. They show up and instagram a picture of themselves at the venue, then leave and on to the next thing. Short attention spans, etc...

Agree...This was disturbing to see too. When it showed it on TV, half of the students were turned around looking for the stupid balls than watching the game.

I am not gonna pay 60.00 each for 2-4 tickets in the uppers.
What ?
How much do you think ticket cost ?
I keep hearing people say sell the tickets if you not going to go to the game.
But when I tried to sell one ticket last year, $10 was all I was offered. For $10 I'd just as soon have the extra leg room.

For those that didn't hear, Ryan also mentioned the earthquake game at Tiger Stadium.
