I got X from Amazon and it's finally arriving today. I'll post my friend code later.
There was a question earlier about trading from older games. As far as I know you can only trade from Black and White and their sequels. But... the way you trade is improved. There's going to be a program that you can download to your 3DS called Pokemon Box or something like that, that you can hold up to 3,000 pokemon on and trade between your games. So you'll be able to quickly move all of your Pokemon from Black and White to X and Y. I don't think it's out yet though.
The one bad thing is that it's a pay service, but it's only five dollars a year which is basically nothing.

My team is looking pretty good right now. Just beat the second gym leader.
My team is:
Frogadier (first evolution of Froakie)- Level 27
Charmeleon- Level 28
Pidgeotto- Level 27
Amaura (restored fossil pokemon)- Level 23
Cubone - Level 19 (not very strong.... yet)
I also caught the Snorlax but put him in the daycare.

Buy the new gameboy just to play this. How much are they normally?

Think the regular 3DS is $150 but you will want the XL which is $200.
Worth it for a Pokemon machine.

What is up with the Pokemon games? I always thought Pokemon was a kids' thing? Are they RPG or what?

They started out that way, kind of. But the kids that were around when it was really big are now grown up. They've adapted it to appeal to older audiences now.
Even when it first started it had some very dark/adult material.

I'm pretty ignorant to handhelds now a days, what is the difference?
And I see people posting ID #'s or something of the sort, can you trade via those?
TIA

Yep. You can battle, trade and do all kinds of stuff. The ID#'s are the 3DS version of usernames.

You obviously weren't 8-12yrs old back in 1999.
Pokemon is fun.. just has that "kid game" stigma.

Help here..
How do I stop using a TM or HM assigned to a pokemon? I've tried to forget it during leveling but it says "Can not forget at this time".
Any help?

I made an impulse buy on a DS and Y today. First handheld gaming device I've bought since the GBA way back when. Got the 2DS for $130 and Y was $40.
2DS is a little awkward to hold and doesn't have the 3D effect but was a lot cheaper than a regular 3DS ($160) and 3DSXL ($200) and plays all the 3DS games.
How do you find out what your pin number is?

Should have handed over $30 more bucks for a much better experience.
The 2DS was awkward as hell to hold and I could never get a good viewing angle. Terrible idea IMO. Gratz on joining the fun though!

3DS XL is a must, I have the original and it's small as shite!

The system has so many great games on it between the DS and 3DS library that it makes forking over 200 for a 3DSXL worth it.

You have to talk to the Move Deleter to get rid of HMs. I haven't played X or Y yet, but he's usually in one of the later towns.

Yea yesterday I had plans to wait til next week and buy the 3DSXL but I got the itch and had to pull the trigger.
Not sure why they decided to put the controls right in the middle of the 2DS instead of on either the top or bottom half of the system but its not too bad.
Moving left on the stick or d bad is the most uncomfortable thing about it and its only a minor inconvenience.

Thanks.
I played B/W 2 for a week but never came across this issue.
X & Y is almost a totally different type of Pokemon game. Same concept but completely redone. Love it.
