The Daycare center is pretty early on in the map iirc but you can't catch a ditto til almost the end.
GTS allows you to trade online. Its on the touch screen and lets you select the pokemon you want to trade and the pokemon you want in return as well as gender and level.
Its really good for getting pokemon you can't get in your version. Just don't trade a kadabra/Haunter you've trained and expect to get it back

Checked it out. Pretty neat. I just wish there was a way to search The Pokémon you're wanting to trade to see what people are looking for that one and what they're willing to trade for it.
For instance, since I have 3 extra charmanders, I wish I could search for people that are looking for a charmander and look through what they have put up to trade for it, instead of naming one specific Pokémon I want for it and putting it up on there and waiting for someone to find it.
Or find out who is looking for an eevee and see what they're willing to trade for one of my two I just got from wonder trades ;)

Yea that'd be nice. But if you have a specific pokemon you want in mind its not hard to find someone willing to trade that one for a Charmander

Just deposited female and male eevee in day care. Gonna start harvesting eevee eggs :)
If I put a male jolteon in there with a female eevee, would I still get an eevee egg, or would there be a chance for as jolteon,or something different?

Lol, they've already made an egg. Them jokers move fast! Now I just walk around with the egg in my party until it hatches, right?

Pretty sure if an eevee is involved in the breeding then in the egg your gonna have an eevee.
And yea you just walk around with the egg in your party for it to hatch. Goes by quicker using the bike and the long road in front of the daycare that passes by the battle mansion is a good spot to just ride up and down the road

yep, it's an eevee egg when you mix an eevee and a jolteon.
got a party full of eevee eggs last night, rode over to Lumiose City, got to a section where the road was wide, and started riding my bike in a circle doing donuts. stuck a penny under my circle pad to stick it in that direction, and when I came back they started hatching.
lol, now I have a full fledged eevee breeding service!
funny thing is, I have only got the second gym badge, so these pokemon I am getting in GTS for eevee are such high level, they won't listen to me, hahaha.
anybody needs an eevee or 2, let me know.
I can also breed charmanders and bulbasaurs, and am looking for a female squirtle to be able to breed those.
In the normal trade screen, like when you are trading with another person, and not on the GTS, is there a way to bring up a chat to tell them what you are looking for, or a way to browse through their pokemon to see if they have anything you might want?
So far, all I can figure out to do is select one of my pokemon to "show" them and wait to see what they put up to "show" me.

Hard part was catching him. Took forever to finally see one, and when I finally ran across it, fricker teleported away after the first attack. Took me two more tries to realize that that is the only move he knows and you have to just throw an ultra ball at him as soon as you see him to catch him.

What do the little icons above the Pokemon move list in the summary for each pokemon stand for? They are like a star, heart, square, circle, diamond, etc. Most of them are grey, but I have a few pokemon who have some of the icons black instead of grey.
Also now have male and female of each of the current and original starters, if anybody needs a bulbasaur or squirtle or charmander or fennekin or chespin or froakie, just let me know. =)

I know I am probably the only person left on this board who is still playing this game, but just in case anyone else is out there, if you need a Kadabra or a Scizor, let me know, as I am filling up poke-boxes with them now, in addition to eevees =)
