"I care about what I do," Chavis said choking up in a post-game interview. "I care about these kids. I damn sure want to be there for them. If it takes being emotional, that's what I'm going to do. That's who I am."

We have some amazing coaches here.

There's an awesome clip this week on Inside LSU Football of the locker room after the game and Miles calling out praise for Chavis, who responds with something like, "...and that's why I love every last one of you! Because, you responded and played like an LSU Defense!"
I got chills.

Les, Chief, and Cam. Most lethal staff in CFB.

Rather then showing anger, I would rather show emotion

This is why Miles is my coach through thick and thin. Sure, there is a lot of legitimate criticism. I honestly do believe he runs as clean of a college program as an elite program can be. I say it like that because we all know there is a shady side to these programs. Especially one that makes money like LSU. He has more care for players than most coaches in the nation. Look at the damn graduation numbers. Not many teams can tout that stat. Our fans don't value a quality in our team as much as they should. At the very least, value it's recruitment potential.

He has taken some heat. And it's been deserved but this guy is a great teacher and loves his job. So glad he is a tiger
You can tell he has already made improvements

It's gonna be so hard for him to leave when he finally decides to retire.

The bottom line was that LSU showed it could win a tight, physical fistfight type of game because it can srtill play good defense. It's the kind the Tiger are likely to have when they plays Alabama, which comes after a trip to Oxford Saturday to play Ole Miss, non conference Furman and then an open week.

It's ashamed some people wanted him fired only a couple of weeks ago. Chief Chavis
