Agree 100% on the points regarding the crappy gameday production, but for all the ranting on here put your money where your mouth is and contact the athletic department with your suggestions. If people gripe enough and are vocal we may get some of these things implemented.

the experience of going to the stadium, partying and relating to the LSU fanbase FAR EXCEEDS sitting on your arse at home and watching the game on TV.

just because you are a poor, lazy and probably fat slob doesn't mean everyone else is.

you sound like the type of person that expects life to come to you. you must be one boring sob.

Good analogy- think they peaked in 2005 about 130000 event and dropped into the high 90's
Supposedly stabilizing after a 30% + drop.
As the economy continues to deteriorate, attendance at all events will start to erode.

To each his own, however, the gameday experience is not the same as is was 20 years ago or even 10 years ago.
Seems like much more of a hassle??? Plus the ever increasing costs to attend in $ and time.

god dammit, do we have to rehash this shite every week now?

LSU could serve beer if they wanted to.

it's not an SEC rule, it's not an NCAA rule.

West Virginia sells it.

I think all the SEC schools are waiting for the first one to make the move.

as soon as that happens, most if not all would follow.

When I had Season Tickets I always wanted to go to the game. I drove from Marrero every Home Game. There were a lot of big games on TV that I could have stayed and watched and watching on TV was never like going to the game. Like I said if I did not make a game I gave my Tickets to someone at work and my seats were always filled. If I had Season Tickets today I would do the same!

granddad is one of the 2-3 worst posters on here. He's been mad ever since Hester ran out of eligibility.

My uncle knows the guy in charge of raising all the money for the expansion and he told him that there will be two scoreboards put up in the South endzone and each will have a screen three times the size of the of the one in the north endzone.

a couple of citations stating otherwise...

quote:

LSU Associate Vice Chancellor for Communications and Senior Associate Athletic Director, Herb Vincent said that is not the case, and it is actually the Southeastern Conference that does not permit the sale of alcoholic beverages during sporting events.

"The SEC does not permit the sale of alcoholic beverages at athletic events except in private, controlled areas," Vincent said

quote:

Today, it is time to address one of the more egregious rules that our otherwise dominant conference has established: the SEC’s ban on the sale of alcohol in the stadiums.

I don't know why any of you bother with these ideas. As much as I love my University, they don't give 2 fricks about any of us. They are making their money and have seen no dip in paid attendance and have a healthy waiting list. Why on earth would they go about anything differently.

Most of these ideas outside of selling beer would requires LSU to actually spend money which is

Well that's false too because the Georgia dome sells alcohol for the SEC championship game.

also this:

quote:

Alcohol is also not allowed in the general seats at Tiger Stadium, but if you sit right above those areas, in the box seats, you can drink alcohol. "It's easier to control," said LSU Associate Vice Chancellor Herb Vincent. "It's a game management issue." Vincent says because none of the other schools in the Southeastern Conference allow alcohol in general seating, LSU does not feel pressured to change their policy. "It's kind of an unsaid decision that's been made among the league schools that we're not going to sell alcohol," Vincent said.

Vincent says if SEC schools start to sell it though, LSU may reconsider. There is no SEC or NCAA policy in place banning alcohol sales at college sports. It's left up to each individual campus to decide.

So much speculation and very little facts to know cause and effect and the scale that these suggestions would have on impacting the problems.

LSU needs to define its primary goal. Is it revenue generation or the gameday experience? If revenue, then sacrifices must occur.
