A&M should have never needed to make a "comeback"

Lookin like its Mariota's year but the knock is always gonna be that he's just a cog in the system. Which is true, but he's also the best cog they've had yet.

Manziel lost two games last year. He still won the Heisman. Plus most of the Heisman polls still have him in the lead despite losing to Bama.

Yea..

I heard that a lot of TV the past week. How he really is just a system QB. But you're right...he's by far the best QB they've had in that system.

Every QB that Sumlin coaches puts up huge numbers too. The whole "system QB" knock is stupid and overblown. Mariotta is legit.

A&M will need a signature win. Ole Miss is not a signature win. Last year his heroics gave BAMA it's only loss. Likewise, to repeat you are going to need probably little extra.

Manziel is gonna need a lot of people to fall off a cliff to win it again. All his problems will hold him back and he's not really topping his performance from last year.

If Oregon goes unbeaten it's be Mariota.

Remember that UW had a top 10 defense in total yards and 3rd in passing defense coming into this game.

He won last year because he beat Bama.

It wasn't just his numbers...Mariota had similar numbers despite sitting out the 2nd half of most his games.

Never discount signature wins/plays in the Heisman race.

Manziel already lost to Bama. He'd have to claw his team back to the SEC title game if Oregon goes undefeated.

I was all for Manziel last year and even with his 2 losses.. but this is a different season and I'd give the undefeated guy in Oregon atm has the edge. ATM

What you say is true..

However, have you ever seen a QB GAIN more Heisman hype after a loss? He lost to Bama and all everybody talked about was his 564? yard performance. He didnt drop in the Heisman race. ..at least by most of media, etc.

Most people know Mariota and Manziel both were Oregon commits. Oregon was more excited about Jerrod Randalls commit. All three committed to the same class.

Mariota had the better game today. But manziel so far is actually out playing himself from last year. Scary thought

That isn't holding up for 3 months. Heisman voters have a short memories.

Here's to hoping LSU makes him play like he did last year against LSU....
