Yahoo did not lock Brandon Jacobs last night - How to handle ?

We had someone pick up Jacobs during the game last night. What should be the procedure?
Shouldn't all players how are playing or have played in week 6 not be available until after week 6 is over? That's how I see it. If he would have been scheduled to play Sunday and no one picked him up, he would have been locked until waiver claims started

He should go back onto the WW.

That's on your commish, not yahoo

Does it give you an exact time he was picked up? If not, he may have picked him up right before kickoff.

If it was a mistake on yahoo's part, I say let the owner have him...
Smart move on his part. If he didn't grab him, someone else would have.

How so? ESPN does it automatically. It's unreasonable to expect the commish to manually lock every player at the start of every game.

10:07 PM.
The commish put his team back like it was before he picked up Jacobs and posted a message stating that we will have to bid (we do FAAB). I agree with it. Just wanted others' opinions

Why would it be the commish's fault?

The commish probably had waivers set to 12:00pm Sunday instead of the game time for each player

Yep. I would put his team like it was before he picked up Jacobs and Jacobs would be available just like any normal waiver wire pickup would be, for week 7.

I don't follow. Our waivers are early Thursday AM and then again on Sunday. Players still lock at the start of the Thursday game.

It's on the commish cause the setting are wrong,

This is how Yahoo does it. Don't hate the player. Hate the game.
This happened in one of my leagues as well. I wasn't mad. You should know your league settings.

If it was setup so that he could pick him up he should be allowed to keep him IMO. Yahoo waivers can be set up different ways. My league had is set from Sunday to Tuesday. This was promptly changed to Game time to Tuesday once I grabbed Julius Thomas during the second quarter of his first game. Also if someone had a player they were able to drop say on Monday night to pick someone else up they were unable to which wasnt really fair. The commish should change the settings upon league agreement but the guy who picked up Jacobs shouldnt lose him because he picked him up based upon the settings in place.

You can choose a specific time to set waivers on Yahoo. I know, because every year our commish sets it to 12:00 on Sundays instead of game time. We have to correct him every year when the Thursday players are available.

I'm not mad at all. Jacobs is at best worthy of playing for the next 2 weeks? Whatever. This is more of an issue on how we agree to run our league.
It's week 6. Had the game been on Sunday, he would have been locked until bids went through. That's the issue.
We will probably put it to a vote if the guy makes a big stink about it anyway, but my vote will to be to have to bid on him.

Ah, 10-4. I've never fricked with waiver wire settings.

chances are this is set up wrong too, you just dont know it

All my yahoo leagues for some reason do not lock till Sunday at noon. It's an issue because (1) thursday players are available after their games start and (2) you can't pick up a late Sunday or Monday game player after noon on Sunday.
