Omahan Coming to Baton Rouge for LSU/Florida

Hey all -
I'm a Husker fan from Omaha coming to the game this weekend with three of my buddies. A customer of mine, who is a big LSU fan, got me tickets to the game after I helped find him tickets for the CWS this year. I've always wanted to see a game at Tiger Stadium and figured LSU/Florida would be a good one to go to.
We're obviously looking for insight on the best gameday/weekend experiences and was hoping y'all could provide some tips to us out of towners, both for Friday night as well as Saturday pre and post game. We Omahans have a strong connection to the LSU faithful so we know we wont have to search far for great southern hospitality!
Thanks all and

May wanna post your age to get suggestions on things to do Friday night. Get to campus early Saturday morning and walk around campus. You will get treated to all the food you can eat.

i would've held out for the LSU/A&M game since it will be at night but this one will be great first trip none the less
...and make sure you wear a Nebraska shirt or something. LSU fans love seeing visitors coming in just for the experience.

Make a shirt that reads "I'm from Eauxmaha". You'll be given access to any tailgate you pass.

I'm not so sure A&M will be at night

Your people were amazing when I went to Omaha. I will forever be in debt to you guys. I couldn't believe how much you loved us
I hope we treat you as good as you treated us.

You bite your tongue. I think we could only have one day game on CBS. I might just be making that up though.

I have a good feeling that much reciprocation will take place this weekend for you and your group. Enjoy!

Would have loved to come for the TAMU game but it was hard to make work with all our schedules plus Nebraska plays Purdue this weekend so it was a safe bet to get away (I hope so anyway).
We're 27-28 year olds so we'll be looking to tie it on pretty good.
Love the shirt idea...we're gunna have to find a way to get those made!
Thanks everyone. We're all jacked for the weekend!

Spend Saturday on campus and wear your big boy pants...lots of eating and drinking to be done...same goes for after the. Game. The tailgates will go into the night. Let people know you're from Omaha and you'll be taken in.

Friday night:
If you want to go to a very casual dinner with a college vibe I'd go to either Chimes or Sammy's. I think Sammy's has better food, but Chimes is on campus. Also Georges by the Perkins overpass is along those lines. If you're looking for more upscale there are a bunch of options, just check out the dining guide here and see what suits your taste. If you're looking to go out I'd say go downtown. There are a bunch of options and if you don't like a bar you can easily walk to another.
Saturday, get you an early gameday breakfast at Zealand Street Market and get to campus early. Wear your cornhusker gear and you will probably get a good reception from the LSU fans. I know I was treated great by all the Omahans when I went there in 2009 and most LSU fans I know that have made the pilgrimage have an affinity for you guys.
Post game: See Friday night above.
In general I'd say read through the dining guide that is on this site. They have a ton of info and reviews for all the restaurants around town. Maybe bars too, but not sure about that. Have fun.

Go downtown friday night. Better crowd for your age.

You have no idea how much LSU loves Omaha. That fact that you came from there to see us, you'll be welcome everywhere. Seriously, just talk to any random stranger you feel like. The way we tailgate it's not a who-you-know. Everyone is our friend. Even I talk to anyone I feel like when tailgating. Just know everyone will be happy to meet you.
Party downtown unless you're in your early 20s. Downtown hotels are best too. Be sure to get some good Louisiana food. I'd say Mike Anderson's seafood or Sammy's/George's because they're so uniquely Baton Rouge. Definitely go to the Chimes restaurant on campus. Great food and atmosphere. Same for Walk-ons.

Start off with dinner at the Chimes to get the LSU area feel. Pretty good food....and tons of beers on tap.
From there go downtown. (North of campus) 3rd Street between Main St and North Blvd has a lot more 23-28 year olds. More bars than Tigerland so you can bar hop until you find your scene.
Tigerland area is more the college aged bar which is southwest of campus. 18-22 year olds.
